cipher982 05-03-2007, 10:33 PM I'd be interested, my car's running faster than it should. I'd like to know what numbers it's putting down.
Mitch 05-04-2007, 12:11 AM Interesting. Even though it's BMWCCA, do you think the shop would bitch about me bringing a FWD car in?
mcbk1452 05-04-2007, 12:21 PM Would love to but already dynoed a while back and have not done any engine mods to it since that time....thus it'll be pointless for me.
I may come watch and banter with peeps..
That guy, Heath with the red S/C E46 M3, should come...coz I love to see the dyno pull on that...but I'm sure it's already been dynoed from Active Auto before they shipped the car back to him....
Fusion325i 05-05-2007, 01:06 AM shouldnt be a prob as long as you reg
monchai-its at my buddys shop getting painted as we speak
miklm 05-05-2007, 03:17 AM No point in putting mine on the dyno, but I may swing by to hang out. I'll be at Munich sport that morning also, but I'm leaning towards not brining my car out -- I was under the impression that they'd be doing tech there as part of the deal, but the email indicated it was an extra charge and they were only going to tech 5 cars. I can have a local shop do it cheaper and quicker this week once I finish up.
Unless they want to dyno a GMC 2500 Duramax truck... Torque numbers on it would be interesting. ;)
M3Alpine99 05-05-2007, 12:54 PM where is the link on motorsportreg?

mcbk1452 05-08-2007, 09:48 AM Jay - tell Heath to show off his S/C E46 M3 sometimes to us at our gathering...I/we love to check that out...I'm willing to start a raffle for rides...
schussey 05-08-2007, 03:30 PM hmm- I think I'll stop by

Got that email too - Jack (munich sport) doesn't have a dyno - and doesn't normally work at the shop on Saturdays, so I'm sure Jack doesn't want to be there all day teching cars, thus the limit of 5. I know nothing about the auto labs folks other than where they are located and it appears that someone that works there has a maserati cabrio (one of the newer ones, not an old Biturbo).
and not so much an extra charge as a separate one - tech inspection is what ever it is ($35.00 :dunno ) and then the dyno is $45?? at auto labs-
sidetracked3 05-10-2007, 11:49 PM Where si this being held and when? I am still waiting on my car. Should have it by the 26th of this month.
sidetracked3 05-10-2007, 11:50 PM Just found out, sorry guys will be out of town this weekend and I do not have my car back yet. I will start coming to meets once I get my car.

This was the black on tan 4-door E36 right?
Mine should be in the same ballpark, with a stock airbox/filter and stock exhaust. ;)

yup
mcbk1452 05-14-2007, 10:32 AM It was nice meeting everyone at AutoLabz this past Saturday.
Michael, Mitch..now I can put a name to the forum names.
Michael - see you at the track.
Mitch - I'll PM you offer on the CCFL
David- nice dyno run on the 325...i like the no-muffler agressive sound.
Jay - no beer to all...and made me wait for ever on that m5 and we couldn't dyno it after all that build up. But I got to sit in in though...tell Doc Roberts(?), thanks for showing me the car.
Anyways, great time this past Saturday !!!

Ya, it was good but I ended up putting it back on the next day. I ended up having to drive slow everywhere since it was so loud. Not a problem anymore though :D

I actually like the sound. It wasn't annoying like the trucks around this area. It was nice and mellow...almost like my B&B Tri-flo.
miklm 05-14-2007, 09:33 PM yup
That may be the first dyno run I've seen on a stock E36 325i.
That helps me, because I can adjust my shift point up at the track. I've assumed that I was at peak HP at around 5,500RPM but that shows its making power up till 6,250 so I can run it out a little more before shifting.
Now I wish I had brought mine down to get a run on it to compare apples to apples, but I ended up running out of time to wait -- had to get to a wedding that evening way out in Chelsea, but had to go back to Hueytown to shower/change.

Hood of thr E60 M5 - We couldn't DYNO it due to sophisticated electronics:
If the front wheel sensors detect a big difference in acceleration with the rear wheels then it cuts the throttle off (safety feature). It took us 30mins to figure out that we couldn't dyno it.

cipher982 05-15-2007, 10:59 AM So what if you want to do a burnout in a M5? I guess that won't work either.
mcbk1452 05-15-2007, 11:36 AM So what if you want to do a burnout in a M5? I guess that won't work either.
Yes, you can do a burnout in the new M5...tons of video on youtube...becuase the front wheels are "moving"...
BTW - Overseas (Europe)...they figured out how to trick the ECU so that they can dyno the car...
Oops...some professional tuners here in the States also knows how to do it too...check out www.m5boards.com and type "dyno" in the search under E60 M5 subforum.

Check that link, it's just giving me a bunch of ads.
EDIT: http://www.m5board.com (http://www.m5board.com/) I'm guessing you meant that.
mcbk1452 05-15-2007, 02:48 PM David - yes... without the "s" after "board"
Sorry about that...
vanos954 05-17-2007, 10:30 AM Oops, I forgot it was last weekend. I would have liked to have put mine on the dyno. Oh well.

Yes, I'd love to see what the goat puts down on the pavement.
400 at the crank...I couldn't keep up with one getting on the I-65 ramp a few months ago. :(
