I called the dealership today to be the first one around here to order one. And they didn't even know about a 1 series coming to the u.s.a......Maybe it is time for me to go to another dealership.

No foolin'? Every dealer looks at me like I have three heads when I ask about a 1 series.

I would be so down for a 135i hatch with a manual.

srsly...

no foolin, they don't have pricing, but they expect to get it during the first week of august, and should have cars for spring delivery.

I don't see why everyone seems to have a hard-on for the hatch. I think the coupe looks great.

yeah the tail end of the M1 is a bit disappointing. I would have to see in person though. At least the 2nd-generation M1 in 2012 will probably look great (and that's exactly when I'll be back in the car market, hehe)

Because hatches have higher structural rigidity, in most cases. So, less chassis flex.

Plus, you can actually carry stuff.

bacause the hatch is sexy, and the 5-door in particular is very sexy and practical...

it would be nice to have a confined space for the mutt as well...

Where did you see an unmasked rear view? Your only seeing what they want you to see.

If you think its gonna look like the rear of the hatch made into a non hatch car then you are wrong! I talked to a friend that works for a BMWNA research company in california and he said the rear lights are gonna look like a smaller version of the 3 series coupe lights. So the back should look sweet!

Call your dealer now. He should have the June 30th BMWNA announcement. I'm 1st on my dealer's list for 135i Coupe.

What is the price listed for the 135I? Is it still $35,000.

Dark Helmet
07-03-2007, 11:53 AM
prices are still "at large"

if BMW prices a 128i w/ sport and CWP below 28,500, then they will sell the living crap out of them.

if they can keep the 135 under 35K, it will similarly obliterate their sales records.

coupe > hatch

i like the rear end. i like the whole design.

I'm sorry but a 1 coupe is too close to the 3.
The Hatch's ability to close off the entire rear section with a net is bloody awesome. Perfect for animals and big fat boxes. The only other BMW that offers this kinda thing are the wagons and SUVs. I will personally slap their CEO in the head if they do not offer the 135i in hatch back form.:mad

We currently own a 130i and really want to make a move to the 135i hatch.

Ditto on liking the hatch over the coupe (both style and function). The Car & Driver mag piece made it sound like previous attempts to sell wagons, etc. were complete failures, but the Cooper hatch is doing just fine. Pfft.

Hum,
Maybe a twin diesel (123d) and Euro delivery...

Gotta love that torque and MPG...

Under $35k and weight down into the 3100s...it would be hard for me NOT to get one. Coupe that is. I'm hoping more like $32 or $33k.

From what I'm reading, you're going to be disappointed on both counts.

I don't see how they could be more than $35k with the 335i not too far north of that and the 128 around $27k. I fully expect the weight to be up there, probably 3300 with our luck, but I don't think it will be over $35k. Unless people start trying to place pre-orders before the prices are set. Then they got us by the short hairs.

People...keep the hype down until prices are confirmed. If we get them under $35k, then we can go crazy :buttrock

i am very interested in the 1. Looks great. dont know if i want to actually pay for one yet. I was hoping for a 120 of some form. I dont know why but i like 4 cylinders.

Is it just me or is the convertible is ugly though. The one series does resemble the 3 series alot. I have see a E46 & E90 mixed together just shorter. I called my dealership last friday & I am the fisrt one to get to test drive and a chance to order from them. I kind of do wish also a 120 petrol version of the car to come out b/c I would just buy it for work for gas milage.

BMWNA swears on the bible that they will NEVER allow a 4 cylinder BMW to grace our shores again.

I bet with a twin turbo 300hp i6 the 135 will outrun anyone who thinks the rear is kia like...
some ricers are gonna be surprised.

But I'd be astounded if they are pricing them above the mid 20's... that puts them in direct competition with much larger cars, instead of the under 20k sub compact market.

this is like saying a z4 should be priced close to a MX-5

shouldn't it?

I mean if you really wanted to sell them to create loyal buyers who later would move up your price points... after all they are entry level cars.

no they arent, the $20k Mx-5 or civic is the entry level car. if you want/need/can afford something with more power, luxury, features, class, etc, then you pony up the bucks for a BMW.
