Hey guys, hoping to get some questions answered here.....

Where do you guys purchase your aftermarket parts (mods) from Dinan, Turner Motorsports, someplace else?

Also, what did most of you start with for your first mod? I done other cars in the past and sometimes it is best to start with a CAI or something like that, but I have seen numerous post about CAI being a trouble spot for the BMW.

What do you guys think?

I'm planning on going today to get a baseline dyno, so I can have a starting ground to know what gains I am getting from the parts I put on the car.

I have yet to mod my car (bought about a month ago) but I have been researching for a while now. I'm not going to buy from any place in particular, just what seems to be the best price for performance.

Performance mods I'm doing will be in this order:
1.cosmo intake (ordering today)
2.Upsolute chip (cheap, seems like it will have great gains, lots of people have been happy with it)
3.dinan auto trans software.

After the performance upgrades I'm going to move onto cosmetics.

I'd start with suspension first. Stiffer springs, better shocks/struts, bigger sways, stickier tires, and some better brake pads.

After that I'd do exhaust and software.

After that I'd do super charger.:devillook

CDV Delete
SSK
Trans Fluid change

Then I would move to suspension upgrades.

On the CDV Delete, do we need to or should we purchase a modified CDV from here: http://www.zeckhausen.com

Or can I just connect the line directly and remove it altogether?

Is there a DIY for this?

No one has Upsolute software. There is a group buy that is trying to get off the ground. Part of the problem is that no one knows what the results will be though it is expected to be good.

Other problem is you have to send in your engine controller.

If it's still under warranty, use the modified CDV. If not, just delete it.

This is what I would start with (performance mods) but how far you go just depends on how much power you want to make.

1. Programming
2. Exhaust
3. CAI
4. Camshafts, springs, lightweight retainers, etc..
5. Larger throttle body
6. Cylinder head porting
7. Headers

sorry, I wasn't referring to BMW owners being happy with it. Simply that I have heard only good things about the company with respect to other cars.

Andy, there is a DIY link here for the CDV delete (from what I have read there is definitely no need to get an aftermarket CDV, simply delete.) http://www.bmwtips.com
