View Full Version : Spotted e92 M3
blakbimmer 05-02-2007, 01:39 AM I was on the highway today around 1:30pm going southbound on rt.17 in paramus when I glanced over to see an e92 coupe...looked at it again, it had a rather aggressive front and and the sills on the front quarter panel...but then i saw the quad exhaust and put the m6 "style" wheels together and I knew it was an unmarked black e92 M3...has anyone seen this car around the area? Whens the ETA on release?

darthE36 05-02-2007, 01:51 PM I agree^^^, did the hood have a big bulge in it (maybe it was happy to see you he he he......sorry :stickoutt ) No but seriously, if it didn't it wasn't an m3 because the motor is so big they had to make the hood with a air scoop type bulge.
MP525i 05-02-2007, 03:46 PM are you sure? did you check the mirrors, side scoop, hood bulge, etc.??

Being that it was in NJ, I don't doubt it was an M3. Not uncommon for a few test cars to make their way to headquarters.
LexdiamonNYC 05-02-2007, 04:00 PM I work right down the block from the BMW headquaters, seen a few.....i don't get what the big deal is?...you saw an M3, so what?....it's not even that nice looking, hell the E46 M3 looks tons better!!!....when you see a McLaren F1 LM driving down rt17 thats when you should get excited!!

It could have been the new M3. I've seen the X3 leaving the IKEA over there in Paramus before it came out. I would like to see the new M3 though to officialy decide if I like it or not. Going by the pics, I don't care for it much.
DMXtremeZ 05-02-2007, 09:04 PM It probably was the new M3, I usually see all the MB and BMW cars driving around unmarked before they come out. Both of their headquarters are in Montvale and Woodcliff Lake

e46 m3's have lost their luster for me. i see, on average, 5 a day. the same will probably go for the e92/90 m3. oh well....
now a mz3 pen0r... THAT's something you don't see everyday. :D

e30mk 05-02-2007, 10:18 PM ^ nice sig mike.
blakbimmer 05-03-2007, 07:15 PM The headquarters is right where i live in montvale, yes i am aware of the hood as the sun was reflecting of of it, the quad exhaust which the 335i does not have, M-diffusor, etc. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen it as I have seen the e60 M5 and the 6 series months proir to release with no masking and with special plates. Anywyas it was an awesome sight and it should be prowling around this area more often as a test car. With the 6 series, it was given to a top engineer (Axel Mitterer) who works at the headquarters 5 months prior to release as I have ridden in it with the new smg transmission they had out for it. Usually the headquarter gets these cars to test them on these roads and log in the vehicle's dynamics and fuctionality.
HaroldC 05-03-2007, 10:59 PM It was the new M3. It's still camo'd up, but it's the real deal. Those are the production wheels you saw, just in plain silver vs. the 'chrome shadow' that the press release photos have. I've had a chance to look it over pretty well, cool engineering wrapped in not so pretty clothes.
