View Full Version : Summer Northeast Meet Feeler Thread
djmatty 05-02-2007, 12:18 AM Date:
June 9th
Location:
Hammonasset State Park, Madison, CT (Map (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Hammonasset+State+Park&sll=41.261455,-72.55444&sspn=0.038647,0.073385&ie=UTF8&z=14&iwloc=addr&om=1))
Time:
2ish pm start time, until whenever
Plans:
Meet up at the park, have a meet and greet, barbecue. Have a cruise at 5 pm or so, getting back a bit before the sun goes down.
I can try to get sponsors to go.
People who are close by can come by for the meet and cruise. People farther can either camp at the park, or they can stay at one of the nearby hotels (if they don't take off for home).
We can rent a pavilion for $100. I'd front the money, and accept donations ONLY up to $100. Entry to the park is $3. A campsite is $20.
(All of those prices are what I've been told, not 100% sure).
Any input?

BealeAss 05-02-2007, 12:28 PM Mmm Carmen's car should be back by then and mine is a permanent fixture of his Boston abode, so I might be down. Be a nice prep, for the TMS meet the next day up in Amesbury.
djmatty 05-02-2007, 10:10 PM Cool.......anyone else?

djmatty 05-03-2007, 12:54 AM is there cell phone and sprint mobile network available there? work owns me :( but i want to go
I'm going to call the park up tomorrow, I'll see if anyone there can answer that, lol.
Vanilla Gorilla 05-03-2007, 01:00 PM I'll be there and I'm sure a few other Boston Bimmer folks.
3two8eye 05-03-2007, 03:40 PM I'll be there, pending work.
djmatty 05-04-2007, 12:11 AM Ok, I'll get the specifics set, and make a thread.
briansol 05-04-2007, 03:40 AM sweet.
yeah, if anyone near by can just drive through and check their cell service, that would be great. usually close to the ocean the service range drops. :(
Vanilla Gorilla 05-04-2007, 10:12 AM What is your job that owns you so bad? Obviously its worth it though because you have an 04 M3 :buttrock

They said there is sprint service there.....not sure how much I believe them, though.
Anyways, I have some updated prices:
$150 to rent the pavilion for a day, which has 6-7 picnic tables.
$9 admission per car for CT residents
$14 admission per car for non-CT residents
~$15 + fees for campground site
Who's still interested?
M3Jay14 05-05-2007, 12:55 AM ima try to make it to this
djmatty 05-06-2007, 11:37 PM Bump.
Any more input?
Vanilla Gorilla 05-07-2007, 10:55 AM If I'm driving from MA I really don't wanna pay. It costs me at least 25 bucks to drive there! I personally don't need a pavillion and I will bring food for myself and the group. I'll still throw a few bucks if everybody really needs a pavillion but I don't think it should cost more money for non CT cars. Were the ones making the long drive to support the cause.
GrimReefer 05-07-2007, 11:43 AM I'm in 100% i'm only about 10-12 miles away. i'd be willing to go and help set up if you wanted some help.
Vanilla Gorilla 05-07-2007, 01:03 PM Since your the grimreefer do you have good nugs? If so then you can bring them to the picnic along with the bimmer.

I believe that the cost detailed are actually the cost to enter the park and not some "fee" for this meet.

does your 323 have m3 side vents?
~bimmergirl~ 05-07-2007, 08:03 PM lol no everyone asks me that, that's a real M3 I'm sitting in in that picture...but *hopefully* my new 335i will be in on time for this meet :D
Vanilla Gorilla 05-07-2007, 08:19 PM My bad I didn't realize it cost $$$ to get into the park. I'm still going to be there regardless.
ericsE30 05-07-2007, 08:25 PM great idea, i will definitly go. phirus or not.
djmatty 05-07-2007, 08:41 PM Yeah, it's the PARK's entrance fees, not mine. The only thing I'd be accepting money for is the pavilion fee, which is what I'd front anyways, so it's not like I'd be making a dime off this.

I can sneak you in my trunk
lcjhnsn 05-07-2007, 09:36 PM I've got it on my calendar...
Vanilla Gorilla 05-07-2007, 09:43 PM HAHA I can try and fit in the trunk but its hard enough for me to fit in my Wee 30 nevermind the trunk.
GrimReefer 05-07-2007, 09:49 PM Since your the grimreefer do you have good nugs? If so then you can bring them to the picnic along with the bimmer.
lol........we'll see i'm not going to say yes or no here on BF.C as to not get anyone (including myself and BF.C) in legal trouble :shifty .
I'll try to get some of my local BMW enthusiests that aren't on the forums on the bandwagon. i know 1 person that's definately down (owns a 745i) and another that may be down if i can get in contact with him (2 e36 M3's). i'll mention it to anyone else i can think of. i've also got a VW fan that might want in if noone has any objections to a member of the darkside being there.

The trunk in of my M6er IS as big as your e30!
djmatty 05-07-2007, 10:03 PM Alright, I think we have enough people to go ahead with this...
