I have an 86 635csi
First off, my ac is on crack... When I first start the car and turn the system on, it will turn on and will work and blow hard. After 30 seconds or so, it begins to blow softer and softer and before i know it its not blowing at all... If i leave it on(but not blowing at all) and make a hard turn or sometimes a hard brake, it will blow hard for a second then go back to blowing nothing at all. Any ideas?

Also, my power locks dont work, is there something that commonly breaks with the power locks on 6ers? Any Advice?

Lastly, is there something I can do to my car to install a power trunk or trunk pop button? The lock is broken back there and it would be perfect if i could just press a button to open it.

The systems are a little too complex to troubleshoot without a little more info,

First download a free PDF file of your year ETM for the wiring diagrams:

Next, The A/C blower speed is controlled by a transistor, but the speed switch has a "Max" position that bypasses the transistor and powers the blower direct. So Try the blower at max and see if it is steady and then try 3/4 speed and see if it is steady. This will give a little more information to help. It sounds like the transistor pack is bad, but It can't be if it is happening at full max.

Also, my power locks dont work, is there something that commonly breaks with the power locks on 6ers? Any Advice? For the Power Locks, go to "Central Locking" in the ETM and scroll down a couple of pages to the Central Locking Troubleshooting chart and go through it to get a little more info.

Thinking about it a little more, if the blower is fading out with the speed knob to max, then it could be the blower select relay is dirty and not keeping good contact.

The Blower Select Relay is located in the right side of the center console behind the OBC. you can get to it through the glove box. This relay can be replaced by the same relay that is used for the High-Beam Headlamp Relay (K3), Bosch part number 0 332 204 401, so you can use K3 to test it.

you can also add remote locking system. It installs in the trunk and will unlock the doors and trunk, works good. just $40 from JC whitney for the one i got. took about an hour to install. For a bit more cash and flash, there is a flip-open key/remote system (key looks like audi/vw) from United Auto Security. Haven't tried theirs, found it after i'd ordered my JC Whitney version.
