I know somebody who has a new M6. I am unfamiliar with the tires/wheels, etc of the car, but he is always blowing his tires out while driving. One time he doesnt think he hit anything, but it blew out his tire, which apparently did damage to his undercarriage, and left him without the 6 for a month. He has gotten other flats and had tire/wheel issues also....to my knowledge he is using factory recommended tires and wheels. He has never had these problems with other cars he has owned, although I realize and have told him that the M6 is something completely different, and must be driven differently. So I am curious, are these blowouts a result of the tires being poor? Or do you think he needs to drive it differently or be more aware of potholes and such? Its frustrating for him and extremely expensive as well. Any ideas?

the only thing i can think of is to keep up with his tire pressures and make sure wherever he gets tires mounted that they are mounted correctly. they should'nt be blowing out for no reason

Is he into Drifting? :)
Never heard of anyone complaining of blowing tires. Could the self leveling suspension be collapsed allowing the tires to be cut?

This is a first. There has to be another story behind these blow-outs. Over 50 people I know and talk to on the boards who track their cars, run them hard on the streets and highways have never and I mean never experienced what you describes. Something smells fishy here... If it looks like :boobies, they must be :boobies.
Tell your friend to drive the car like any other car and be careful not to run the tyres under pressure and after he's finished tracking the car and or auto-xing' it, to make sure the tyres have ample tread to continue his journeys.

Tires don't just randomly blow for no reason...
