Hey, I just got an e34 and it turns out that most of the right side of the car is not working electrically. the guage cluster, the passenger headlight, parking light, and tail light all do not work. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this.
Thanks,
Dan

I can tell that's an E36... I'm not retarded. :D

Anyway, free bump for you, not that you needed it. I am just as perplexed by this problem that you're having as you are. Sorry.

I would definitely like to know what's causing it, though. I will follow this thread if it develops.

I'm sure you have allready checked your fuses?

If not, do so.:D ;)

Second, it can be the harness of you trunk. When a wire or more wires are broke, these could be symptoms.

Is it only yhe lights that don't work? Then it also could be the Light Control Module.

That you can find under the hood at the drivers side, under the lid where you find the fuses...

There would be the Check Control Module and the Light Control Module.

But check your harness of your trunk... ;)

What am I looking for in the harness, just worn down / broken wires? this is on the drivers side of trunk right? Also if this helps anyone diagnose the problem I was fooling around with my voltometer and found that there is power getting to the headlight, but 11 volts instead of 12 like the driver side. which is really throwing me off.

Try checking your electrical grounds, it seems your not getting good ground for that side of the car
