I am seriously considering picking up a 318I...not a track beater but as a daily driver for my girlfriend. The car I am looking at needs some work, and as such is for sale at a cheap price...but I want to see how much of this work is something I can do myself without paying a mechanic tons of cash(sadly not made of gold). If anyone would be wiling to shoot me an IM at umlguy01701 I would really appreciate it. (the reason this is posted in New England is I am here, and its always nice to get to know local people)

Is the 318is an e30 or e36? Both cars are not that bad to work on. ON both cars one of the major things is the front crank seal and oil filter housing gasket other than that most of the stuff u can do self. Now on the E36 body just make sure it doesnt need rear trailing arm bushing you can do them your self but there not easy.
