the sport package became available in 1999, only on the 740i

the 740iL only had the sport package available in 2001

alot of people put the sport parts on it even if it isnt a true sport. i'm sure that's what they did.

Yes it's true.

Sports Package only became available in 1999 in the 740i model only & was available in iL in 2001.

It included 18-inch wheels (M Parallels), Shadowline trim, a lower final drive ratio, Vavona redwood interior trim, ///M Steering wheel, sport seats.

Okay, I will post pictures of it on Monday to show you how low it sits.

Did you buy it used? Is the car black? If it is, I may have seen your car. And if you had purchased it used, the PO had installed lowering springs on it and had used undersized tires.

Everyone on here is right. With the true sport package (on the "i" short wheel base) the front end sits 1" lower than the standard E38.
