Can someone please help. I just bought a 2001 X5 4.4.. I was informed that the dealer had changed the air mass flow meter) following codes came up during inspection, P0171 and P0174. Codes were reset, I picked up the car today... check engine light came on again... what the heck is going on here, did I get a lemon? or is this minor problem related to the air mass flow meter? did the mechanic leave something off?...

Anyone know what is going on here?

Run the codes again. Might be something different.

what do the codes translate to? find a list of the codes, because until you know what the code is, could be anything.

and if they didn't fix the car, take it back and demand they fix it, simple as that.

same problem here. 01 4.4 is running great, but the light keeps coming on. local gas station read the codes as:
P0171
P0174
P0344

that's fuel trim bank 1 & 2 and emission control something. is this mass air flow or what? the car starts up and runs great, so these codes probably affect my 'great' gas mileage of 14.1 mpg ...... I would like to correct the issue if possible. thanks for any info
