Saturday, March 3rd
Well, I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. There were just too many kids out today in Dad/Mom's car and they were all iching for a race.
I'm on my way home from a nice relaxing massage and really not in the mood to play, just enjoying the drive. About halfway home a group of kids pull up in a Ford Contour SVT. They had been chasing me for about 2 blocks and finally caught up and as luck would have it, we caught a light together. I give a quick glance to make sure on the vehicle type and check for any aftermarket mods. (You can never be too sure and I don't want to embarrass myself) Then I decided to wait and see what they did. Well, the light changed and sure enough, they floor it. I did my regular city start and gave them the edge then punched it! I'm shifting into 2nd as I pass them and leave a nice scratch to let them know who the big boy is.
I don't think they were very happy with the loss as they were driving like nuts trying to catch up and go at it again. But of course I needed to turn. So, another day kiddies!
Maybe next time they'll try against my X5!

An X5 4.4 would beat a stock Ford SVT Contour.

Fords got some problems. A while back one of my friends had a countour, and wanted to race my M. I was like gimme a break, but he insisted. After 2 beatdowns, I went too look at his tires, and the tread had litterally melted off. I was like WTF, what a POS.

Ha ha... that's funny Mark. Let them get a little ahead... then show them what that M5 really means. You're car also doubles as a four-door rocket sled.

I wonder if I could stuff an M5 engine in my car.

Hey Mark

I used to have an SVT Contour before my M3 and let me tell you it was no slouch! Obviously it will lose to an M car but for 20k, Best bang for the buck car if you ask me. It held its own amongst "normal civilian cars" like Mustangs and Rice. IF the SVT only had one person in it, it would have been much quicker. That cars performance suffered terribly even when I just had one passenger......Maybe thats why I always like driving alone ;-)

I actually feel bad for the SVT, its an awesome car and my allegiance lies with it although Im sure it was like clubbing baby seals for you! hehe

You and your damn Dinan M5.....:D

An SVT Contour may hold it's own against pathetic rice, but it is absolutaly no competition for anything fast. I'd spank an SVT Contour silly in my 328, so I know any M car would eat one for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and then sh*t the damn thing into the toilet.:p It's to bad most of the SVT's owners don't realize that, they think just because it's got the SVT badge on there, that it is automatically a speed machine; me, and I'm sure anyone with a "real" fast car, would love to beg to differ!;) Sorry to go off, but I've just seen it to many times myself! (BTW, this was not directed towards you in any way J Vitolo, I do realize that not all SVT owners (or former owners I guess) are that way!;) )

Well, baby seals should not pick on the big Walrus! They're liable to get bit! :D
Of course if I'd been able to purchase a brand new vehicle in high school (even an SVT) I imagine I would have been handed my a** a few times as well. There's always bigger and faster. But as a kid you just can't help yourself. You have to push somebody's buttons just to see how far you can get. Made my Saturday afternoon anyway!:p
