we just sold our house on the north shore of oahu. 5 minutes away from Haleiwa....so close to Pipe:( and about 10 minutes away from waimeha bay...crazy body boarding:)

i miss it so much.


but i have been doing some thinking and in about 11 years or so i hope to be able to buy a house out there and spend a lot of time on the north shore. i am a total surfer at heart and if i could right now i'd give up everything and move there....surf everyday.

when i was there last year for a week, i'd wake up every morning at around 6-7 and i'd grab my board and paddle out past the reef( our house was right on the beach ) to some amazing waves. it was usually just myself and a couple locals out there too...it was great. nice swells, nice barrells.

i can't tell you how many times i watch blue crush( filmed right by our house ) and feel so sad just looking at those waves and watching people surf them!

the closest i get to waves here is having the fat kid across the street from me jump in the pool!

i need to go back, i have been having withdrawls for like 9 months now:)

hey island, what island do you live on and where? if you are on oahu next time im over there you'll have to let me drive around the island in your coupe.

i bet i could make it around oahu in sub 2 hours:)

lol...yes I'm on Oahu. PM me next time you are headed this way. I don't know about letting you drive though, your car doesn't look too "straight" in your sig.:awink:

just out of curiosity do you know the last name Wilkinson?
that is my last name, and most of my dad's family lives on oahu.

my grandpa was named Bill, he passed away three years ago, but he was a beloved doctor on the island. practiced medicine until the day he passed on at 86....60 years of medicine:buttrock
there's a golf tournament on oahu once a year in his memory. i believe its the Doc. Bill Wilkinson tourney or something like that.

also, my uncle john has been on the news for his backyard a while back.

he turned his entire backyard into a big 4 hole golf course....just wondering if you saw it or new the name:) he also owns Back to Eden landscaping.

and last, my other uncle billy is a doctor as well.

just wondering if you heard any of these names before....the island isn't too big:)

I don't think I know your Father or your Grandfather. I do work in a hospital though, so I am sure if I asked around someone here would know them...

yup...its a small island though, getting smaller as I get older.

and yeah i don't think i could make around the island at that time either..its freakin' nuts! are they still doing that zip lane deal?

we'll have to have a big bimmerforums party next time i come to the island! we'll go get maximoto(sp? ) shaved ice, hit up big way burger( the best freakin' food on the planet! i could eat their teriayaki burgers all day long!), then go surf pipe!!! come back and get the orange chicken combo plate at L&L drive in, and then go have a big ol' bon fire at my friends house right on the north shore!!! woo! :)

actually Pipeline is pretty dangerous right now isn't it? maybe wait till mid may or so.

but its cool to know that there's some people to meet up with next time i'm there:)

North Shore 10 - 15 ft and pumping!

i am a 10 ft'er or so:) i don't know if i could do the 15s, but i wouldn't mind taking them and eating it:)

i actually used to ride 15s all the time on body boards, but i don't know i havd rode one on a surf board.

You guys make me sick. I took my girlfriend to Oahu last christmas, and I think about it ALL the time. I plan on making it a yearly trip!
