Hello, I have a 2001 X5 with a regular four spoke steering wheel.. .I am looking to buy the three spoke steering wheel... I found one of a 2000 M5... would this be compatiable? the guy selling it says yes...

best bet would be to find one off an X5. The airbag and steering wheel controls is where compatibility will come into play.

and also the steering wheel may or may not be splined to the shaft, so you may not be able to even put the wheel on.

It can be done, as I have purchase a 02 M5 3-spoke steering wheel for my E38. Bottom line, it'll work for my X5 as well. Any-who, just follow these threads from X5world, and you should be straight!

Thanks for replying.. actually I ended up founding a good condition 3 spoke steering wheel of a 2001 X 5, I am waiting on a 3 spoke air bag. My car currently has the four spoke steering wheel... hopefully its a plug an play to a 3 spoke steering wheel, I am assuming all of the wiring would be the same??
