View Full Version : New owner saying hello...looking around

It's going to take me some getting used to the new board, but I wanted to just say hello.

Tomorrow I pick up a 335i 6MT Coupe in Sapphire Black, Sport Package, and I think a few other options I probably didn't care for.

I sold my 2004 350Z which was GReddy Twin Turbo, NISMO body kit, aftermarket stereo, audio redux and some other things. I had about 340whp (stock boost) and will miss that car dearly.

I was looking at what's new and feel for the new 335 coupe and after calling around found one that was for me. Not the color I wanted but how hard it was to find this car at the time I settled for black. Black is awesome but it's a full time job to keep clean.

I pick her up at 10am tomorrow, where I'll get a feel for it and hopefully post some pictures. Once I get used to where I should post and the layout of this place I'll feel more at home.

I'm not sure I can post attachments or I'd show everybody my Z...she was sexy.

Good to have you. You'll have to accept our apologies in advance for those who don't actually own the car who know more about it than you or I and BMW combined - and I can't leave out those who do own it, yet have had no real issue, yet have been hounding BMWNA with an "issue" that they've never experienced. Irrational fears of overheating and faulty parts are abound. Apparently we all should have bought Ford's because they have dipsticks and a water temperature gauge.

As I said. Welcome.

Beer Goggles. Congrats on your purchase. What interior color did you get? I know the feeling of letting go of a car you have enjoyed and replacing it with one you haven't got to know yet. The 335 coupes are definitely hard to find on dealer lots in southern Cal, as most are pre-ordered cars for customers.
You need to post a certain number of comments before you get the right to post pictures here. I think it is 15 comments to qualify. I have found this a very easy site to use, and hell, I'm not even a BMW owner (but being tempted by the 335 coupe, and would like it in sapphire black with red interior and aluminum trim......I think).
Welcome aboard.

I just picked it up this morning. I got black interior with aluminum trim, which is what I wanted. My drive back was very reserved, as I'll take it easy on the new girl until I get her worn in.

Very impressed with everything so far. I'm glad I was able to find the 6MT or I wouldn't have been as happy or settled for the Sedan, which I think has better looking wheels in that Sports Package.

Socrates, I'm aware of "message board panic" but can understand that buying something with a known flaw is hard, until your realize that every car has problems. It's the treatment during that makes people look past.

Not to start up again here. But if it were actually a known flaw there would be tech bulletins and recalls. None of those things exist.

I've had cars where they ignore issues while they try to figure out the fix. I had an A4 where coil packs were failing left and right, and until there was a petition on the forum and data collected there was nothing done.

There comes a point when they have to release the car with/ or without the problems they find in production, and usually why first year cars have the most issues.

I'm not really worried.

Beer Goggles, Congrats on the purchase! I too have a Black on Black 335i, but it is a sedan. I hope you don't have an issue like I have. After one day of ownership, mine died and is still in the shop over one month later. They still don't know what is wrong with it, and BMWNA doesn't think that is a problem. Other than that, it is a great car, I guess. The BMW driving experience was what I dreamed it would be for one day. Since then it's been a nightmare!

Beer Googles, congrats on your new ride! I'm also a newbie on this forum in addition to being a recent proud owner of an '06 330i. My wife and I were actually looking at the 530i's when we came across this car at the dealership with only 5700 miles on it - next thing you knew, we were leaving the dealership with the car! It's jet black (looks great, high maintenance) with the dark terra leather interior. So far, we are both loving it! I used to have a '91 300z twin-turbo - loved that car, but the 330i is just as sporty with far more room.

Many many congrats. I myself picked up my 335i (Sedan) earlier this week, and am LOVING IT. It's dirty now though :(

I'm loving it, not loving looking at how dirty it gets but it's still pretty.

I'm considering buying a 335 convertible at the end of the year. I'd like to see pictures of your car before I select my options.

I like your color combo. Post some inside and outside photos when you get a chance. I may have to look at them in a mirror to get a true perspective since you have a UK car, right?

I think Beergoggles needs more posts before he can show photos, as I didn't see the ones he thought he posted.

I didn't see Beer Goggles photos either. I bet it's a beautiful car. Can anyone here post photos of a 335i with the sapphire black /aluminum trim options? Thanks.

You guys can't see my pictures? I can see them on multiple computers...is there an option you have turned off?

I haven't turned off any options (that I know of), and I do see other photos. But yours don't show up, and you appear to have more than enough posts.

My photos are linked from other sites, and appear on every computer I have, and my computer doesn't know that another post is mine or yours. What do you see where those pics are?

Thanks for solving the weird photo post problems. Nice cars. Looks like someone used their finger to do designs on your right rear fender right above the tail lights on the 335. Maybe a reflection. If not, time to get out the swirl remover, polish, and wax and pamper that baby.

Beer Goggles

Just a reflection. There were some swirls but I think it was just the polish not being fully removed. My next free weekend involves me washing and getting Zaino on it. I've never really been a fan of Zaino on silver cars, but we'll see how it works on this color.

Nice rides! I too own a 07 335i, but couldn't let go of the 350Z. My Z is stock not turbo'd....I can only imagine how that thing took off!
