Since this is my first car with RFT, I have a question about travel and the tires.

What if I am more than the designated travel distance from home and the town I break down in doesnt have rft or are all out (which even happens in large BMW dealerships)? Do I get a tow to a place that does courtesy of BMW or do I have to buy a non rft to replace it and get my ass home? Or do I just keep traveling on the flat and pray?

The 50mi travel distance is just to keep the manufacturers covered from lawsuit, and is probably the point at which 100% of the cars can drive on a flat and have no issues. Obviously like donut spares, you can drive more than 50mi if you have to, its just not recommended. When I blew an RFT recently I drove probably closer to 100mi to get it back to the dealership (I was in the mountains headed to Vegas), and it was fine. I think the main thing is to not go too fast on it, as it gets pretty sloppy around curves.
