Although it's not on the official BMW site list, a lot of you are having success with other phones. Wanted to know if anyone is using the Motorola MOTOSLVR successfully before I buy. Thanks.

Wanted to know if anyone is using the Motorola MOTOSLVR successfully before I buy. Thanks. cemman 04-23-2007, 01:01 PM I have used the RAZR and KRZR and they performed flawlessy. I'd be surprised if the SLVR didn't work exactly the same, but you never know. nm335 04-23-2007, 01:03 PM If you think you will have a need for the "snap in" adapter, make sure that there is one available before you purchase the phone. They offer one for the V3m. Not sure if it is worth the $$$ if you are in a metro area, but here we have quite a few dead spots. By utilizing the external antenna, many of these are no longer a problem. Mechanic69 04-23-2007, 08:14 PM My dad has a SLVR and it works fine with the bluetooth. It is the european version SLVR so I am not sure if that makes any difference, gotta love ebay. LI E90 04-24-2007, 04:12 PM will work fine Driv3r 04-24-2007, 04:53 PM yeah motorola in general is pretty much compatible with BMW. MoyMch 11-13-2007, 05:45 PM I have a Moto SLVR and it works perfectly in my X3, although I am having some trouble pairing it to my new 328xi as a second phone. I think it's user error and not the phone. Ty Vil 11-13-2007, 10:22 PM Moto's generally work very well with BMW Bluetooth IR DOC 11-14-2007, 06:09 PM Moto's generally work very well with BMW Bluetooth Not the i880 with Nextel. My phonebook cannot transfer and I ended up manually programming the voice recognition menu that's part of the car's system. Ty Vil 11-15-2007, 01:56 PM Not the i880 with Nextel. My phonebook cannot transfer and I ended up manually programming the voice recognition menu that's part of the car's system. I should've qualified that. The SLVR, RAZR, KRZR line phones work well. azhrei 11-17-2007, 12:00 AM I agree (mostly) -- my RAZR V3m paired with the car just fine. But I _do_ have problems with the phone: it sometimes won't recognize other bluetooth devices in the area (such as the car or my BT headset); if I enter an unlock code but turn the phone on and immediately close the lid, it never prompts for the unlock code (!?); and I sometimes have trouble doing a data dump to/from my MacBook Pro using bitpim. I'm going to try grabbing the firmware for the Alltel version of the phone (instead of Verizon) since their firmware has many more features. After I've flashed the phone, I'll post here again with info about the experience. So while the phone paired fine with the car, I can't give the phone a thumbs-up (with either thumb! :)). |
