Hi,

I've just taken delivery of my 335i coupe. Its taken over 16weeks to arrive, but it was worth the wait. This is one special car.
I have a few questions.
My car is built January 2007. So I want to know if the fuel pump problem has been fixed and the heating issue rectified in this model.
Also since this is my first BMW, I want to know if the traction and stability control allows the car to slide a little bit even when the system is completely on. Because I've gotten the back end out a fair bit out of corners especially in the wet.

First of all, congratulations. Second, post some pictures.

Re the fuel pump and overheating issues, I regard them as "internet" issues. Haven't had any problems with mine built in mid-December.

Re the rear end coming out a bit on wet pavement, yeah it will move a little bit but the system brings it under control pretty quickly. I was driving on snow and ice (not recommend with sports package and no snow tires) when I first got mine and it handled remarkably well.

Regarding the over-heating and fuel pump issues, I have read in other forums that 2 % have had problems with this (still too high IMO for quality control of a new model) but I think we are hearing from the more vocal 2% on the Net which doesn't speak to the 98% who have no problems with their engines. Let's hope yours is in the 98% group...

From what I have gathered on the different forums, oil cooling systems and new guages that show higher temps began being installed in Feb production cars. But easiest thing to do is to ask the tech at your dealership if you have an oil cooler and look at your guage since you actually have the car there!

Even if there are issues, it's under freakin' warranty. They'll fix it for nothing.
