I saw this 335i coupe at the BMW dealer today. Have to wonder how both wheels on only one side of the car came out like this. Perhaps the owner, if they visit this forum, can explain what happened? It couldn't have been good.

It is no optical illusion. Here is the front wheel up close. The back one wasn't much better. I believe it was taken to the dealer for repairs, not for sale (yet).

Believe me, all it takes is a decent sized pothole. I didn't mess my wheels up (slight bend in the lip) but did blow a tire.

I bet those wheels are not very expensive -- you often get what you pay for, but especially when it comes to rims.
That being said, it is very easy (anything over 10 or 20 miles an hour and a low curb will do it) to bend aftemrarket wheels severely.

that's right. Last year, in Chicago, there was a huge construction on one of the main expressways, and there at least 30-40 cases of people that bent their rims or blew up tires. I think they tried to sue the City of Chicago for that

They are Iforged wheels, pretty expensive. 3 to 4K range. This guy is on another forum and is a young kid that drove too fast and went off the road.

Yup, young kid that couldn't handle the car and was going to fast. Went off the road and caught the brush under the car on fire as well. Luckily, he moved it before it did more damage.
