1980 BMW 320i

194,000 miles

all original from factory: ( i think )
5 speed
BBS 15" basketweave wheels
BBS air dam
Momo steering wheel

The fixable negatives...

*below is a pic of the front passenger side of the car where there is some paint chips :( other than that the paint is in good shape.
*small amounts of rust surrounding the window seals ( back side window ) no leaking though
*small dent on the passenger side fender
*rip in the driver seat ( typical from what I have seen )
*small crack in the dash

ENJOY!!

psshh...I'll keep the wheels thanks :stickoutt

I know, I lucked out for the most part, besides the rust around the rear windows. I found my luck in the fact that this car is originally aCalifornia car with only 1 owner....

I do intend on taking care of those small issues within the next year w/ some attention to the body and a respray. :crossingfingers:

Nice choice in wheels. I have the same. A little lesson for ya before anyone tells you otherwise.

The MOMO wheel is not factory. But don't worry. It looks waaaay better than stock.

The BBS airdam is not a factory option for US spec E21. Only one airdam was from the factory and was black rubber/plastic.

The E21 came with 3 choices of wheels. All of which were 13". One of them WAS a choice of BBS. But, these BBS are probably one of the most rare and valued sets by BBS from the late 70's early 80's. Restore them and hang onto them.

By teh way, I'm Barry. Welcome to the E21 section. :buttrock

You could purchace 15 inch BBS wheels but they were a dealer add on you got at time of purchace.

Do the windows roll all the way down with those speakers in the door panels? I bought a rabbit truck that had speakers like that and the windows hit em on the way down

BARRY-- you have some good info..and thank you for educating me!
I am atleast thankful that the original owner took it upon themselves to add these options to the car. :buttrock to him!

yep, I had the windows down all the way yesterday.

I did notice the person that had the car added another set of speakers in the rear. But are the fronts normal? By your last comment I am guessing they are not. I did notice that there was something removed from the door...maybe a pocket or something?

There should be a map pocket where your speakers are now in the door cards. They originally came from the factory with front speakers in the kick panels, and rear speakers in the parcel shelf. The only bad thing is they were 4x6 speakers and to fit anything else you have to cut metal.

Hi yeah I should make it...I scheduled off work. I am scheduled to be back in town from a cruise May 14th then I shall be prepping the car for the drive. I have bald tires and one with a slow leak ( so that won't work ) and this has held me back in driving the car a lot more to find how it will hold up during the drive. ( its about 6hrs for me )

Overall, I feel confident though and hope to see ya guys soon. I'm gonna need more specific directions to actually get to the park..if anyone wants to help with that. THANKS!!!!!!!!

I'll keep that in mind...about the seats...funds are tied up right now...but by that time I will be better off. :)
