View Full Version : jacking up a 335i coupe
mblaucoupe335 04-21-2007, 06:05 PM I am ordering a new set of wheels and tires for my 335i and wondered if anyone has any recommnedations on the best way to jack it up to install the new wheels, especially since the car doesn't come with a jack. I have a standard floor jack with a round head on it, but it doesn't fit correctly into the plasitc rectangular jacking points under the car. I also tried to put a piece of wood between the jack head and the plastic piece, but the car is so low I couldn't get it under it with the wood. :mad
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Considering he has an E92, it won't work. The jack doesn't have to fit inside the lift points. If it's flat, and it covers the rectangle ([]), it's fine.

Unfortunately, my jack head isn't flat, but rounded with several grooves in it. when i tried it the other day, it cut into the rectangular plasitc lift pieces. i guess i need to buy a new jack???:(

How old are you? Serious... if you can not figure out how to jack up a car without help, you need to stop what you are doing and go to a profesional. It scares me to think of you driving around on the same streets as me with rims you "installed".

How old are you tough guy? If you can't add anything meaningful or insightful to the discussion, I, and many other people on the board, would appreciate if you kept your rude comments to yourself. You must have way too much free time on your hands to spend time on this board bashing people who are asking serious questions about their cars. Why don't you go make some more money and buy a few more cars!
BTW, I have been rotating tires on my own cars for the last ten years. I hope you feel better now that you have bashed a fellow bimmerhead without the slightest provocation! Honestly, I think the rest of us should be the ones who are scared of sharing the road as well as the earth with someone like you!
762yrass 05-30-2007, 11:17 AM drive up on some 2X6 wood bits. that will give you enough to get the jack under the points with some wood/newspaper on your jack,

Beer Goggles 05-30-2007, 07:09 PM Doesn't somebody sell the aluminum blocks to fit? I thought I saw it listed here?
tyymm 05-30-2007, 07:32 PM Did you try Ron Styger?
I know he sells parts an adaptor, don't know if it will fit the newer bmw's though.
