View Full Version : stock e92 0 to 60 times?
bmwave 04-21-2007, 02:56 PM I know some mags have gotten 4.8/4.9 but what are people around here getting with steptronic trans stock (no aftermarket stuff). I don't understand if stock is getting 4.8 why people are investing in Procede or turbo tuner stuff if they post times in the 4.6-4.7 range. Is .3 of a second really worth the extra $$ and possible warranty issues?
dallasfan824 04-21-2007, 02:58 PM i have never seen numbers that low. Everything I have read has the 335i at 5.2 and the 328 at 6.3 or thereabouts.
luckywales 04-21-2007, 03:02 PM Everything I have read says 4.8/4.9. Seems like the difference is not worth it unless you win cash for street kills.
bmwave 04-21-2007, 03:13 PM here are some links to 4.8/4.9

luckywales 04-21-2007, 03:14 PM Nice one. Seems weird that someone might say "Everything I have read has the 335i at 5.2..."
I suppose C&D is a small, unknown publication.
bmwave 04-21-2007, 04:58 PM so what are you guys getting for real world times? Can anyone dyno or even just stop watch it in real life? Shit I need my car now! Im sorry to always be bugging you all for what the car does and measurements etc. If I had my car here 2 play with I'd b driving instead of talking lol

I forgot everyone is a walking encyclopedia of cars in here. I remember why I dont come in these rooms often. Usually dont pay attention to the stick times being I need an auto. Ooops another cardinal sin.

You need to remember that everyone here knows more about BMW than BMW - see oil temp issues
ulises 335i 04-23-2007, 12:26 AM my 335i is an auto sedan and with my gtech pro (0-60 timer) my average was 4.93 0-60...and now with the turbo tuner my average is 4.55 0-60....
hope that helps.

Thanks for that useful and clearly provided information. I wish everyone could be as succinct and on-topic with these types of questions.
luckywales 04-23-2007, 07:01 AM Hey - what turbo tuner are you using? Does it apply only to the automatic, or could I get in on my manual?
4.5 is crazy...

thank you! In your opinion, is there an appreciable difference in power from the TT. Is the cost/benefit analysis on the side of the tuner or side of stock after considering things like possible warranty voiding, costs etc?
shifty711 04-23-2007, 11:39 AM Kids, 0-60mph doesnt mean anything.
60 ft times, 1/4 times and trap speed means something.
A stock 335 runs what, roughly 13.5 and with the procede is runs roughly 12.4 in a 1/4 mile.
Now that is a big difference.
0-60 times are for magazines and people who dont know shit about cars. :D
