Sup folks..

http://nashville.craigslist.org/pts/313561043.html

So I'm going to go check out this car with intentions on buying it if the people looking at it tonight dont purchase. I spoke with the dude on the phone and he said that he has a replacement 1.8 to go back into it with fresh seals and some other stuff he mentioned. He said the car has no motor but of course it comes with it and its pretty much ready to go back in. Ok, no prob. I'm just curious as to whether the dealer is going to carry parts for it like motor mounts or bushings, bolts, gaskets etc.. that I may need or want to replace. I know I could probably get a few thigns through my work from Worldpac. What do you guys think? Fair price? He said the only real problem with the interior is a small rip in the passenger seat and the exterior has no bondo and all matching VINs with good paint!!!!!!!! As the pictures show, looks great for the year. I'm in love with this car and I wanna be in da E21 pow-wow!

Feedback would be awesome and or personal experiences would be great. Should I buy? Keep in mind, I'm not loaded with cash and I've already got a Ti thats a freakin handful ($$), but i've got time for a project.
Time for researching!

See, I'm kind of into that.

I'm going to research the motor tonight. What trannies work on this beast?

Edit: 5 sp swap would probably be in the works. In fact I know where a pedal cluster is at right now for dirt..

Car looks pretty clean outside/inside, but you are taking a chance if the motor doesnt work when you put it in, although $600 isnt really that bad. I paid $450 for mine with moderate rust and a poorly running motor, but fixed it to running and fair condition with about $150. With the motor out you might consider doing a manual swap. As for hardware, etc, I have not had problems finding parts for my car, but I have not really done much of what you will have to do. Good luck, keep us posted!

Awesome man thanks for the response. Im pretty much ecstatic over this car, as I've always loved 2002's and E30's and never paid too much attention to E21's.

You can pretty much still get any part (new or used) for the E21. There are plenty of sources.

Dealer won't stock stuff for e21s usually. I'm in the middle of swapping a motor into an automatic and if I can live with the auto I'll have a 5 speed with any parts you'd need for the conversion for sale.

Yeah for sure.. I caught a bunch of flack from the girlfriend about buying the car so maybe i'll just bring 500 up there and say take it or leave it. Grr... my car is going in for paint next week as it is lol

Looks pretty clean but I would wait for a manual car thats already running to pop up. Its less work and it looks like E21s are plentiful in the USA so it shouldnt be too hard to find one.

A good condition one is pretty difficult to find,
