ok is there a way to order an ingnition switch to where i use my original key? If so does anyone know where to get one? the closest dealer to me is about 2 hours away and my car is stuck in the ON position right now with the keys in my pocket...this so sucks right now

Edit: wow how the hell do you even get the switch out? lol it's not as simple as my 64 impala...go figure lol

the closest thing ive found is this....but i cant get the paper clip in far enough i dont think. any tips?

The dealer is the only place to purchase a coded lock cylinder, which is what you need. You may also need the lock cylinder housing that holds the cylinder, usually when you can take the key out without shutting the key off, the tab in the housing is broken.

The paper clip will work, but it has to be the fattest paper clip you can get into that hole. Keep in mind to that you may have to play with the posistioning of the hole, because if the tab in the housing is broken, things with the cylinder may not align the way they're supposed to.

The BMW tool for this procedure is less than 2 inches long.
