Ding Ding Ding!
These cars basically need two things besides the obvious to run good, strong vacuum and a good ground. That is without a doubt your problem. - Chris

Mine was like that a while ago. It was held together by heaps of electrical tape, and it seemed to work. Car started and drove, idles properly. ITs just a quick fix mind you, and probably should get looked at properly.

That could definately be the issue. Regardless, you'll want to replace that thing soon.

I would say that is your issue. .Clean it off good with alcohol and let it dry. Fill the crack with some silicone until you can replace it. Let it dry good overnight and make sure to fill the crack good all the way around. Force it into the crack with your fingers so there are no leaks. This should get you by until you get a new one.

use some kind of epoxy, or jb weld, or even seam sealer.

Actually, next time clean it and use DUCK TYPE. Rip it into 1" or so wide strips and wrap it up. Duck type helps keep the Marines going, at least it did it the old corp!! My Day.
