This is the new 8 split spoke design from VM.

This is not a replica of the 890 wheel. From straight on, its similar - but from a cross section view - a night and day difference. Both types of construction require specific features with regard to strength and durability. Not to mention that manufacturing equipment also has a specific set of traits that a wheel inherits. In my opinion, there are advantages and disadvantages to BOTH forged & cast wheels, although in general forged wheels have a better report in the marketplace (asides from price). In conclusion, certain wheel models are better suited for forged, and others for cast. At the extremes, some cast wheels CANNOT be made into forged, and vice versa.

Pricing

$899-$1099/set depending on color combination.

More info to follow, comments are welcome.

Yes. 19's = teh beauty and teh slowness. I vote for a second run of 18's if the interest is there (and weight is acceptable). Great looking wheel.

tom, i read your post on another forum saying that youre introducing gunmetal and black as additional finishes to the hypersilver and hyper black. I was wondering if the gunmetal and black are glossy (clearcoated) finishes or are they flat gunmetal and flat black? thanks (i would love gloss black centers)

It's considered "Matte Black", while it does have a clearcoat, we don't consider the wheel to be "Gloss Black". An official announcement will be made soon on the new colors so orders can be taken.

Hub diameter and bolt pattern is correct, I'm not sure about offsets. You should be able to correct with spacers if desired.

We're looking into a custom adapter - the wheels will not be offered in e39-specific sizes.

E60 M5. Do you have any that fit over the brakes?

If you have a 19 x 8.5" in +22, that would be great news (given they fit over the calipers).

Stock E60 M5:
FRONT: 19 x 8.5" at +12mm
REAR: 19 x 9.5" at at +28mm

In the rear, the E63 M6 has a 19 x 9.5" +17mm wheel, which also fits the M5 and fills out the wheel wells better.

People sometimes use a 10 or 12mm spacer on the stock M5 front wheels, taking the offset to 0 or +2, which fills out the wells better. They also use a 10mm spacer on the stock M5 rear wheels.

If you do stock a 19 x 8.5" +22, then I'd just need to buy a 15mm spacer, taking the offset to +7.

So, given they fit over the front brakes, and you have those offsets you mentioned, I'd probably need:

19 x 8.5" +22
19 x 9.5" +22
15mm H&R spacer
Longer Wheel bolts (45mm I believe).

Interested in 18" staggered fitment for Z3 M Roadster/Coupe. How much do they weigh?

The 19" will be arriving in a couple of weeks, 18s are in evaluation depending on demand.

Approximate weights are 26lbs in the 19"x8.5" size, 19x9.5" rears will be about 26.5lbs. 18x8.5" will be approximately 25lbs and 25.5lbs for 18x9.5".

Numbers look good, we have tested with caliper templates so far, which do clear without spacers on M3s, a reason the spokes are angled the way they are.

As soon as the wheels arrive, we can mount them on a vehicle and perform real-world fitment testing - which I would be more confident in standing behind.
