View Full Version : bosch 02 sensors for $62.00?
nightkrawler 04-17-2007, 05:45 PM yep, called napa, advance, and autozone about pre cat 02 sensors for the 540, autozone.advance have them for $62.00!! thats even cheaper than what i can get them for from my parts dept, and i pay 10% over cost. has anyone used these?
fragzem 04-17-2007, 06:01 PM bosch makes some basically universally fitting o2 sensors, and some "oem-style" ones
the cheaper ones may be the universal ones that'll fit into ur bimmer, but not made to the exact spec your original ones are... or somethin like that, anyway
I have the ones from Advance and the are Bosch OEM.
nightkrawler 04-17-2007, 06:30 PM cool, so they plugged right in? no splicing wires?
supark 04-17-2007, 06:49 PM yep - have bought direct fit O2s from autozone before for my 540i - great deal.
nightkrawler 04-17-2007, 07:00 PM wow, definitely goona get these. was just going to do the pre-cats, have any of you guys replaced the post cats for any reason?

I was wondering that myself, I have a set of pre-cats ready to swap out, but didn't know if there would be any gain to replacing the post-cat ones too. Especially considering some simply remove them.
supark 04-17-2007, 08:13 PM don't bother with the post cats - the precats are the ones that tend to fail earlier and have a direct effect on air/fuel mixture.
cpatstone 04-17-2007, 08:49 PM I got a cheap generic O2 sensor for my passat a while back. Had to splice the wires, but it was very easy. They come with a very good, snap-together connector thing, so you won't be soldering unless you want to. Been working fine for 2+ years of new england road torture.
TXBDan 04-17-2007, 09:55 PM amazon.com has em really cheap too. there's a link on here somewhere about em.

oxygen sensor 13559 (bosch) on amazon.com 61.99
dagoo98 04-18-2007, 11:44 AM Are you guys getting CEL code for the Oxygen sensors or are you just changing them as a precautionary measure? I haven't gotten a CEL so I figured there's no need to change them.
nightkrawler 04-18-2007, 05:23 PM owners manual says change them at 100k.
applecran 06-08-2007, 06:59 PM resurrecting old thread.
Are the ones from advance/autozone for $62 good for my '99 540?
Just planning some preventative stuff.
RidinLow 06-09-2007, 11:32 PM Just got some Bosch sensors in the $60 range... Pep Boys even had them in stock. They look just like the ones that came on the car.
kaptom540 06-10-2007, 01:13 AM Dan mentioned them on the FAQ .. I think you are good to go !
pittsburgbimmer 04-03-2008, 11:26 PM thats a very nice deal and no need to wait for shipping
