if there is anybody in las vegas that is willing to rent me their tool and reset my check engine light? i will meet you anywhere you want in the las vegas area.
the story is my wife put gas in my 97 m3 and didnt put the gas cap back on, so now my light is on and it wont go off. i tried unplugging my battery for several hours even with no luck. i took it to autozone so they could check out the light, and it came out with some code that said there was an evap leak, with a reasoning behind it being a missing gas cap.
i cant register my car until my light goes out, SO SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!

I believe your code will disappear after a certain number of drive cycles go by without a reappearance of the problem that set the code.
I have an OBDII code reader/reset tool, here in sin city. Theoretically it should work on your car since OBDII is supposed to be an industry standard. I bought it to temporarily erase a code in my stang for registration purposes. At any rate PM me if you wanna give it a try

i drove from el paso to las vegas just last week with that light on the whole way, never going away. and i've probably started the car a good 30 times since, with no luck
