I ordered a 335i coupe last month and called my CA today to ask for the status of the order and the actual order #. He told me that my BMW was on transport and would arrive around May 15-20. With the order# I joined the owners circle in the BMW site and checked the status from there. It says "Your BMW is scheduled for production". WTF? Not even ready for shipment. Is there a delay in the BMW network or is my CA telling me some BS? Why would he lie about this? I can't seem to understand. Any ideas?

The Owner's Circle is usually several days slow but it would have to be a couple of weeks slow for this. Do the options on OC match up (more or less) with your options? Could he have given you the wrong production number by mistake? Certainly the car would have to be on the ocean to meet a mid-May delivery.

Based on experience, trust your CA and ignore the Owner's Circle. I've had my car for three months. OC still shows that I own two 335i's. I ordered my car in Mid November and it arrived at the end of Jan...exactly as the dealer predicted. I hounded him a few times because the OC always showed something other than what he was telling me. In the end he was right. Just pretend that OC doesn't exist and wait for your car. Your dealer wants it to arrive just as badly as you want to see it.

Owner's Circle is sloooow. My car left Bremerhaven on 4/9 and today OC shows that it is still awaiting shipment. Got a detailed printout from the salesman showing boat name, dates, stops, etc - most helpful.

OC is adequate for general info only. When we got our car, the site had it awating transport to the dealer for a full week after we already paid for the car.

In our experience, your salesman gets the best status info.

Anyway, looks like your car's almost here. Congrats! :D

the owners circle is fine for the average bmw customer... but for the type of person that goes through the effort to seek out online forums and get info... well that's not gonna be good enough. what I'd do is just ask your CA to call you once a week with the status... regardless of it changing. I had folks that ordered a 750i and the owners circle was more than enough info for them... and they were pleased that it showed up earlier than the OC said it would. I've also had people that were online and keep an eye on it. those people would much rather have the real info than the delayed OC.

OC is worthless.

Call 800.831.1117 with your production number and talk to a human. They can give you accurate info.

Call your dealer, and have them check the Info bahn, and tell them to PDF what they see. I did that every week of waiting for my car. Yes, I was popular.
