I just got an 04 525 that has the phone controls on the steering wheel, but I don't think the bluetooth is setup. Does anyone know if I can add it.

If you don't already have it, it can be added at your dealership.

I have teh same question. I think it was only available in models produced after 10/04.

My 545 was produced in 11/03 and the I-Drive computer is different and the mid console does not have the connectors.

Would be some reworking to do.

SIRIUS can be installed on the following vehicles: - 7/2003 - On All
Restrictions? All 5 Series sedans must have SA 693 (Satellite Radio Preparation) or satellite radio cannot be retrofitted in any way.

It can be done. I have a 2004 530i production date 11/03 with the old TCU. Luckily, the TCU broke and the dealer replaced it under warranty. All that was left was to have it programmed for Bluetooth at a cost of 288.00 . Everything works including the voice recognition and the buttons on the steering wheel.

For e50/63/64 5 series w/ the build date 03/2004 to 08/2004 w/ "0639 BMW assist" option you have Bluetooth but it was not activated. Bluetooth was activate 09/2004 and newer cars. You will be able to get it activated by getting your Progman updated to 13.2 or higher and having them enable the "Tel Bluetooth". If your care was build prior to 03/2004 then you will have to pay for the 2005 MY TCU retrofit. If you would like to have the bluetooth enabled I would call your dealer and tell them about SI B84 13 04 (http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/bulletins/bulletin_graphic_temp/B841304g.htm) Look at point # 4. this will give you the info

Good Luck

Sapguy11-
I have the same car with the same build date. The dealer updated the softwate and everything works except that the person calling me can not hear me. What did your dealer do to get your to work. My BMW assist works, voice rec works - all except BT. Any help would be appreciated.

anyone know how much the retrofit costs for the 03/2004 prior built E60's??

Also is it possible if your car never came with the phone or cradle??
