View Full Version : Do you think a Procede 335i will have enough to take out the new M3?

Just wondering, because Procede 335i should make around 340-350whp and 380-390wtq while I figure the new M3 will be making around 350-360whp and 250-260wtq (maybe more). Would you be a little disappointed in BMW if Procede 335i could take out or hang with the new M3? Just wanted people's opinion on this.

I don't know aobut this. The M3 will be a lot lighter and it does have the LSD.
I'd still put my money on the M3 for now. Maybe later after a bunch of mods the 335 would beat the M--my opinion anyway.

What do you mean by new? E46 or the upcoming one with new body and 400HP V8 engine?

The new 420HP version, I wouldn't call a E46 M3 new, because BMW doesn't make new ones anymore.

I do not think the new E92 M3 will be much lighter than the 335i, if it weighs under 3400Lbs I'd be absolutely shocked. According to BMW it will weigh in just under 3500Lbs, so my best guess is 3490Lbs.

I believe that is some tuning software, that adds some nice rear wheel horsepower gains.

Take a look for more info. I'm tempted to say F*CK the warranty and get this... but I would need lighter rims and tires to get the best out of it hehe.

Taken off the vishnu FAQ:

Q: Is the XEDE 100% undetectable by the dealership?
A: Yes, as long as the XEDE with all components are removed carefully and completely. The dealership can though notice a great change if they driver the car with the XEDE in play.

XEDE is what is now called PROcede. The unit is entirely plug and play, so you wouldn't have to worry about voiding your warranty as it can't be traced once removed :)

Yes but are you going to open the ecu box, change all of the wires around back to stock, take the proceed out, and shut everything up every single time you're going to the dealer for an oil change? That's what detered me from the proceed and that's why I went with Eurobahn. The turbo tuner is a complete plug and play and takes less than a minute to install/uninstall. That was the main selling point for me.

Hi All, first post on this board.

First,
1. Will a procede 335i take a new M3? I would put my $$ on the new M, but the race would be close. Additionally, the 335 is a stock turbo car which means it will take to mods much better than the M. With larger turbos, bigger intercooler, more fuel, and the right tune (on a procede) the 335i will probably take the M in straight-line speed without a problem. Of course, being able to "take" the M is a LOT more than just straight line speed. You'd probably have to do a lot more to the 335i to hang with the new M on a race track. Think brakes, suspension, LSD, gearing, aero, etc.

2. Taking out the Procede before maintenance shouldn't be a big deal. I used to do the same thing with a UTEC (similar to procede) on my old WRX. It took about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Not even close bud. The Next m3 will eat every other 3 series known. Even the stage 3 dinans are going to have a hard time.

Having a Procede'd 335. I think for now the e92 M3 will rule. I think in the not to long future it will be close compitition. Once nice turbo back exhausts come out. Procede gets firmware 2.0. UUC releases the clutch for the 335I. Maybe slightly different rear gearing it will be a good race.

I think the 335i will be able to put down more power but the new M3 has more room to rev... 8500 vs 6500 (optimal shift point for 335). I think it will be very interesting to see how everything plays out. Both cars will be great though. The 335i with light mods will be a hellava daily driver and the m3 will be a great track car. I think the gap has closed between the two cars though compared to the e46 330 vs the e46 m3.

I watched the proceed video and it just loked like a big pain to go back and forth. I'm a pretty handy guy, but opening up the ecu and switching the wires back and forth justseems like a big PIA. That's why i went with the TT, since it's so easy to go back and forth.
