Anyway I am glad you are ok. Let me know if you are going to sell any wheels now.
i broke one 15x6. most likley bent the other front one. i FLEW OFF the side of the road and rolled once. i think the 15x7s are ok in back.
it was so sick!!! the car was handling so good!! like a fucking slot car.
you can see my tracks were i locked up and tried to straiten up and you can see were i let off the brakes.
windows? the only windows i dont have are the rear quarter panels. DUDE!!! I ROLLED THE CAR ONCE LIKE 30 FEET OFF OF THE ROAD AND I ONLY BROKE ONE DOOR WINDOW!!!
deutscheEnergi 04-16-2007, 07:26 PM yeah sorry to hear about that.
now your question is...what do you do with the M42?
i have a gray 77 320i i wanted to swap everyone on anyways.
that car had front end damage before and i bought the gray one for the whole front end, now i dont have to do body work, just swap everything.
im actualy ONLY pissed about the wheels
Rickysbmw320i 04-16-2007, 07:35 PM so, its still in the ditch or what? pics! good to here your ok. i havent heard or seen a e21 flip before.

i pulled it out.. dude that car is a fucking tank!!!!!! the roof is alittle fucked up but the body isnt that bad. i opened and closed the hood and all doors.
i wasnt in a ditch guy... i flew off the side of a clif. thank god that thing is light and those trees grabbed me. i killed like 3 trees
IM ONLY MAD THAT I FUCKED MY WHEELS UP. EVERYTHING ELSE CAN BE REPLACED NO PROBLEM
deutscheEnergi 04-16-2007, 07:42 PM shit, are you okay? What happend to the car
going into what looked liked a wide turn, ended up being a "horse shoe"
put on my brakes and then started to turn and my front tire locked up so i let the brakes go, straitened the wheel (sorry for poor grammer) and tried to hit the brakes again but to no work. i went off the oposite side of the road and i knew i it was going to be a hard ride.
i go over the edge of the road and im kinda sliding alittle and then boom! i roll over and then i come to a stop. figure out im alive and try to undo my seat belt. turned the lights off. took my licence plate and ripped my vin tag off the dash. i ended up walking down to the corner of trinity and 12 were my friend came with his toyota truck and we flipped it over and pulled it out. i still have to go get it today i just woke up cause i was up till 7am getting the car out
i THINK this is were i wrecked. ill get you pics and tell u for sure today
Rickysbmw320i 04-16-2007, 07:46 PM what time are you going to get it? i want to check it out!

deutscheEnergi 04-16-2007, 11:15 PM i wrecked it in the middle of nowere. at first i just flipped it over and let it sit. it was over 30-40 feet off the road, no one could see it. ill trailer it home.
2.8L(e21) 04-16-2007, 11:28 PM Checked out the road on google earth looks fun!!!!!! Bunch o twisties. Glad to you made it out ok. Memorize before you pulverize
deutscheEnergi 04-16-2007, 11:35 PM Checked out the road on google earth looks fun!!!!!! Bunch o twisties. Glad to you made it out ok. Memorize before you pulverize
ONCE AGAIN I WILL STATE.... MY BRAKES LOCKED UP!!! THEY ARE STILL LOCKED UP!!!! i am a very competent driver and have driven that road before, i admit i did come to a corner i should of known about after a good amount of strait road to build speed. i was in the very top of second gear and my engine slowed me down alot, you can see the marks, i was in a perfect apex actualy and then my brakes told me f*ck you.
BoomerDJ 04-16-2007, 11:50 PM so are you ganna try and rebuild the car or what
deutscheEnergi 04-17-2007, 12:00 AM so are you ganna try and rebuild the car or what
i have a 77 320i silver/gray that has a near perfect body. im just going to swap everything. i know the sways and strut tower bars are ok and im pretty sure the springs are ok but i know i cant use the struts. i have the m42 im putting in and i was going to take the trans out of the gray one i have and use it but now i dont have to.. i wanted to keep the orange one but it already had front end damage and i actualy got the gray one to use for the front end. the orange one also pulled the the left alittle too hard for me, after buying and gutting the car i found paperwork for a new control arm and i saw the new drivers fender so other then the wheels being f*cked up im not mad at all, its almost a blessing. now i dont have to do any body work, im a mechanic, work as a mechanic and HATE body work. i like the silver/gray better anyways. im leaving soon to go get it.
79fishtailr 04-17-2007, 12:07 AM yeah sorry to hear about that.

is rear sway bar stock i think... thicker front (front and back have poly bushing) racing dymanics front strut bar, home made rear strut bar. kyb gr2 struts and i think ireland eng. springs. 15x6 bbs factory et13 offset with 195/50r15 and 15x7 in back with 205/50r15.
JTFormula 04-17-2007, 10:08 AM I am glad to hear you are ok but where are the pics?

I didn't mean it in any derogatory way. I got in on his M42 discussion previously and was just wondering where it was going to go and he didn't seem too depressed about this car.

BTW: for people like me who didn't see a car, if you click the button, view more pictures by this person you see the car.
What kind of bastard would do that. I would find out who did it. Take your car, and drive it off the cliff behind their house, upside down onto their house, get your sh*t, steal some of their sh*t, and light their grass on fire.
deutscheEnergi 04-17-2007, 11:46 PM damn you must be slow. look again and try scrolling lol

pizzowned. Seriously though, I'll rent a helicopter so if there is no cliff you can still drop your car on their house. I'll prepare the ninjas to light the lawn on fire.

Four little Ninjas. Waiting. Waiting for just the right moment. The moment when all the elements say, “The time to strike is now.” And then, they spring into action. One by one, they are loaded into the Ninja Attack warrior deployment device. And one by one, they fly through the air into battle.
Silently landing on their target's desk, Eric, Roger, Al, and Takashi will do that special thing Ninjas do. You'll just have to stop by to pick them up when the mission is done. The Ninja Attack launcher is a basic catapult (5 ¾” long), with a cover to hold a Ninja securely in the loaded position. Always have a Ninja ready – you never know when you'll need one. You'll get 4 different, 1 ¼” warriors; your target will get a giant Ninja spanking.

Glad you made it out of the wreck ok! Bummed to hear u got ur wheels and stuff stolen! I hope its nobody off the forum cause that would be so scum!

Rickysbmw320i 04-18-2007, 01:34 AM well, youll see them if someone has them on their car or trys to sell them
sonomaGTLN2 04-18-2007, 07:59 AM wow man that is pretty crazy, must have been wild. What is that piece of paper underneath the windshield wiper?

the note saying im coming back 2 get the car.
JTFormula 04-18-2007, 10:26 AM I am confused though. :confused You rolled the car then left it on the side of the road for a couple days? Of course someone ripped off the wheels. They prob thought it was abandoned.
It's also not a good thing to announce the other good parts in your car if it was someone off the forum who stole your wheels. They may come back for the rest of the parts you just announced.:nono
blitzed310 04-18-2007, 11:22 AM Wow you are very lucky you didnt eat your steering wheel. Be grateful for that.
Sucks to loose your car/wheels like that but its a petty thought compared to your good health. At least you can tell if you see those wheels around town, not many cars can sport our wheels. Carry that pipe with you...
BoostedE21 04-18-2007, 12:02 PM Wow that sucks. I bet someone that the car was just left there and no one wanted it..sucks either way.
Also, come on, no one on this board would have gone there and taken the wheels, thats a stupid idea to think of.
Glad to see your okay tho, just shows how much of a solid and safe car the E21 is.
Cerpin TaxT 04-18-2007, 12:51 PM It sucks to loose the rims but just be glad your okay.
Now its time to track down who stole your rims.
BIMMERBOYZ 04-18-2007, 01:11 PM Post pictures of the wheels and I will look for them at Bimmerfest. Not saying it was someone on this board but you never know someone that just views the E21 thread and never post. Also watch Ebay for the next couple months and craiglist as well. I bet they show up somewhere.

Mistermotorist 04-18-2007, 06:48 PM That map doesn't do the Trinity/Cavedale route justice - it's a wicked, narrow road over the mountains that separate the Napa Valley from the Sonoma Valley with lots of elevation changes, deteriorating shoulders, etc. Lots of the curves are marked @ 15 or 20 mph. There are many spots which are so narrow that it is difficult for cars to pass each other in the opposite direction and there is a one lane bridge (in the middle of a big curve!) No lines painted on the shoulders - and IIRC, no center dividing lines, either. It is a serious road, with absolutely no margin for error. It's hard to maintain an average speed greater than about 35-40 mph without endangering yourself and other users of the road.....
elias11 04-18-2007, 06:51 PM That looks like a fun piece of road!
sonomaGTLN2 04-18-2007, 07:06 PM i wish i had roads like that by me :-(. There are some dirt roads north of me but nothing that technical.

he is right. but some turns are even 10 or 5mph. on the road are painted numbers of the elevation and goes over 5000 feet if im right. maybe even more. you are mostly in 1st and 2nd gear the hole time and if you get lucky on a strait away you can hit 3rd gear.

Do you ever encounter others doing the same thing while youre out there? Like do you apex the turns wondering if someone will be coming in the opposite direction?
deutscheEnergi 04-18-2007, 07:48 PM Do you ever encounter others doing the same thing while youre out there? Like do you apex the turns wondering if someone will be coming in the opposite direction?
i was rased on motorcycles and i had my first street bike when i was 15 and didnt get my first car until i was 17 so when i drive i do go wide and i like to drive at night because you can tell 90% of the time if there will be anyone but i usualy dont go wide on a blind corner unless i know i will be in that line for a short time. motorcycles have made me power crazy. the great state of california decided to be so nice and not take away my C class. i had numerous traffic violations from 15-19 and since i never had one ticket in a car they revoked my M class. i use to be really into v-dubs and i didnt mind them being slow cause i had a motorcycle. after that the bimmer bug got me
Mistermotorist 04-18-2007, 07:55 PM This road is generally called known as "The Oakville Grade". It is particularly difficult (although enjoyable) to drive on a sunny day, because the road is completely overhung with trees, vines etc. The sunlight flashes in and out of the trees and it can be dark under the canopy on even the brightest of days - if you wear sunglasses, it can suddenly become too dark when you are in the middle of a first gear corner - also, if you don't have sunglasses, you may find yourself staring into a blazing sun as you traverse from a patch of shade into a patch of unfiltered sunlight... it can get slimy, too as there is sometimes water running accross the road.
Can you tell that I love this road? I take it whenever I have extra time, but I'm careful. I think that the OP has the right idea to drive it fast at 3 am, rather than having to worry about running into a tourist or a farmer.
79fishtailr 04-18-2007, 09:13 PM I Think We As Bmw Owner We Look For Roads Like That To Drive On I Purposely Drive An Hour To Work And 20 Min Of My Ride To Work Is On A Road Like That
hwh22hx 04-18-2007, 09:58 PM Wow! I just read through this...that is terrible that your wheels and such were stolen, not to mention you wrecking the car in the first place. I definitely would have been destroyed if I saw the car, along with it being raped.
From the pics it seems as if the car is down pretty far for someone just "cruisin by" to notice.:dunno It could be different in person though. Either way that is a crummy thing for someone to do. I truly hope if wasn't someone on the forum- its seems that you guys know each other personally though, along with the fact most of you are from CA.
Well, hope all goes good from here on out for you. GOODLUCK!
