Interested depending on quality. Requesting pics installed!

update:
http://www.seiboncarbon.com/pdut_detail_pic.asp?ItemID=56 -OEM
http://www.seiboncarbon.com/pdut_detail_pic.asp?ItemID=524 -ER (or gtr I suppose)

Questions - Are these the hoods you're talking about? also I saw that there was a 2DR and 4DR.

Not trying to help you sell anything but to those who are too lazy to do the research...

http://www.injectedperformance.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=3195&VID=27

Seibon Carbon Fiber Hoods are Grade A show quality hoods. The hoods provide a proper fitment with smooth UV gel coating protection. Seibon is a carbon fiber manufacturer specializing in hoods, spoilers, trunk lids, side skirts and other carbon fiber accessories. By offering such a wide variety of products, it is not a surprise that Seibon is popular in many different markets including high end German imports and the Japanese tuner market. Their quality carbon fiber and efficient manufacturing techniques provide excellent quality and beautiful styling.

http://www.carbon-fiber-hoods.com/

WHY VIS AND SIEBON HOODS?
We prefer to use VIS and Seibon products for 98% of the carbon products that we sell at Body-kitz. These two companies are at the forefront of carbon fiber technology, using high modulus carbon weaves that are both lightweight and strong. Our carbon fiber hoods feature the highest rated grade A carbon fiber with solid underbody skeletons/reinforcements to help stabilize the hoods under high speeds. All hoods/carbon products utilize a glossy clear coat to keep shiny and glossy, as well as to protect from discoloration of UV lighting over extended time. VIS and Seibon hoods also feature a metal OEM latch hook. Other high end manufactures we use include Carbon Creations, AIT Racing and TCS Sportline.

http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Seibon/Spoilers/Body-Styling/Exterior/part_c-140_b-90_pl-3540_p-5539_pr-7.htm

Seibon has decided to take the carbon fiber market by storm by ONLY offering carbon fiber body components. Everyone loves the look of spoilers, but they also help with drag in those cruciale race situations. Seibon spoilers are made of pure carbon fiber to be lightweight and durable.

http://www.raceinspired.com/showproduct.aspx?productid=1576&affiliateid=10061

Seibon has established itself as the name for quality when it comes to aftermarket carbon fiber hood, spoiler, and lip. Seibon carbon fiber front lips come in different styles: CW, MG, RT, SP, TA, TJ, and TR. Each front lip style is designed to give a different aftermarket look for your race-inspired car.

They've been around then...

Im def interested now.

+1....what I'm looking for is not so much pics because pics won't do it complete justice but the other info on nozzles, can we use OEM mount points, OEM shocks?

Is there anything to cover the vents or is the mesh thin enough to prevent a lot of rain water from getting in.

I don't think that you can use the stock hood struts. There is too much pressure. I saw a mod for the strut. It involved drilling a hole in the strut and relieving the pressure. You then buy a a hood strut clip that holds the strut open. I'll look and see if I can find out anymore specifics.

yeah i called seibon and they had said that the stock dampers work but you need to be gentle closing the hood because of the pressure

What's a good way to protect these hoods from fading, warping, etc? I've also read the heat from the motor does some damage also.

Extra layers of clear? Extra heat shield?

clear coat should help alot, and most car paint places should do that for very cheap.

i was told you stock latches bolt right up, pm me when you are to order the hood, im sure we can work something out ;)

BMWManiac

I'm bumping this up for a quick summary to see if I'm correct:

1) mounts to stock latches
2) has holes for nozzles already or needs to be done by body shop?
3) recommends not to use shocks (although you can, just close very slowly?)
4) fits like stock (does not require hood pins, even at high speeds/ won't shake...confirmed?)

Its funny, I had the worst nightmare last night about getting one to go along with my whole 6 speed situation...wasn't too happy when i woke up.

I know these come with stock latch points, but is this secure? I've seen some videos of people's cf hoods flying off the car on the freeway. But they may have a lesser quality hood. I just want to make sure.

How do these hoods compare to VIS?

Do these Seibon hoods have a fiberglass skeleton structure like I heard the VIS' has?

Thanks.
