Well, this summer our 1999 GMC Yukon's finally retiring. I'm seriously considering the X5 (3.0) although I haven't driven it yet and probably won't until mid-July.

Here's my question: what options should I get on it? Mind you, this is going to be a vehicle used with kids (10, 13). I already know I'm getting the Premium Package and the Third Row Seat Package, but is there anything else? I was looking at the Technology Package but I'm just not sure how much we'll use the nav. I know that I don't want the Rear Seat DVD Player because we have portable ones with larger screens. Anyway, what do you think?

Why not go ahead and drive one, or at the very least just check one out up close and personal?

I say that because what packages I like may not be something you like. My husband checked out the 2007 while we had our 2006 serviced. In his opinion, the 3rd row seating isn't worth it.

The different packages are going to serve different purposes for different people. If I were you, I'd go ahead and check out the vehicle for yourself now, regardless of when you plan to buy. Also, you can check out all the packages available online to guage what you might use and what will be worth the expense, to you.
