My 07 328xi coupe is currently in production, and I'm actually trying to get ready by buying a few parts. Has anyone changed the foglights to HIDs? What size bulb is it, and were you able to get them to match you stock headlight HIDs? I was also thinking of using yellow bulbs for the foglights, has anyone done this?

I was also thinking about using yellow (the color of traditional, true FOG lights). The best bulb/brand combo I found is offered by PIAA, I think they call it the ion Crystal version and it is offered in 55 and 80 watt applications.

HID foglights are going to be a bit more complcated -- you will have to wire in a ballast and potentially even more. good luck

Youll get better results in the fog with the yellow bulb!

I don't think anyone has done hids yet, lots of guys just replace the bulb (H8, 35W). I have MTEC super whites in mind; matches the headlights almost perfectly.

Agreed... as nice as it would be to have HID fogs, most of us just update them to match the HID headlights.

I've got the MTECs as well and love them!

Just wondering if anyone had any luck with installing the PIAA bulbs. What wattage did you and was it pretty easy to do by yourself?

I don't think PIAA makes an H8... they make H3 for the cornering lights, but I could be wrong...

Snowkone how many hex bolts did you remove from the wheel well/under carriage to get enough room to install the fogs. the angel eyes were a cinch but the fogs seem like a lil harder. ALSO with the secondary oil cooler on the front passanger side wheel well, did the oil cooler make it hard to take off the wheel well? if possible, could you take a picture of your wheel well and circle with "paint" the program which ones to remove? thx in advance buddy. i cant wait to put mine in.

Before you guys jump in....... I installed a set of Hella HID 3000K's on my 07 E90 they look OK really bright and not the deep yellow I was going for. Now you turn the car on. They flicker and you get an error mesage. Left and Right foglight malfunction. I couldnt find anything on the forums so I started contacted a few people and got my hands on a ECU canceler kit. I have not installed it yet but it looks like a real pain in the ---I may just buy a set of good 2500K halogens
