whats up big daddy? What do you drive? I have a 96 328is. Lowered on chrome 18's with clears all around and tinted windows. I also have the E.C.I.S intake and the UUC exaust. Anyways, I actually went to a prom last year in Lewiston. My buddy from school(Eastern WA univ.) is from Kamia, and his girlfriend is from Lewiston. Her name is Heather by the way, I think her dad is like a principle or something. Anyways, nice to meet ya.

328isguy81 nice to meet you as well. I have a 91 318is, Dinan Stage II suspension, UUC short shifter, Zender Areodynamics, Borbet 15" five spokes, Conforti chip, Dinan front and rear strut braces, ATE Power rotors, full gauge set, tinted windows, and perfromance exhaust. I also have a 98 M roadster Dinan, stage II, strut braces, chip, etc.

I use to edit the chapter newsletter that includes Spokane for the BMW CCA up until last month. Unofrtunately the only events the club has there is track events! Don't get me wrong I enjoy those, but I also enjoy a fast long drive and socializing with other BMW owners, the Spokane area executive board members don't.

I can give you a contact if you'd like of a guy up there who comes here and attends the Rattlesnake Grade Tour every June. Let me know if you want his e-mail.

Keep in touch.

Thanks for the reply Big Daddy. Sounds like you have some very nice cars. I too use to have a 318is(94). Although, it got smashed on a trip to seattle two years ago. Almost killed my friend and I. Anyway, it helped me get the 328, so I'm not complaining. I'm so disappointed that there isn't any Bmw enthusiasts around spokane. Kinda sad. I would like that email you mentioned though. Maybe he and I could drive up to Lewiston some time and meet up. anyways, take care man.

I'm not sure how you define BMW "enthusiasts", but there are plenty of BMW fanatics in the Spokane area. Contact Scott Adare of the BMW CCA Inland Empire Chapter and he can put you in touch with folks that share your Bimmer interests.

Hey Big Daddy! I am really glad to see you on these boards! I wanted to email you and say this but could not so I had to hijack your thread! It is good to see a familiar name from another board and a fellow Z driver!

Unfortunatley Scott Adare is part of the Inland Empire Chapter problem. He has not attended a single chapter event outside Spokane since 1997, even though the chapter comprises Idaho and Montana (for now). Scott can only put you in touch with persons who share your interest if all you want to do is spend all the chapter resources, all the chapter time at the track. Too bad most of the members wanted representation at the numerous other events held within the chapter boundaries. Again, nothing wrong with getting some track time, but that is all he and his present e-board want!:nono

Hello Gregg I recognize you too from the other fourm. I had the roadster out yesterday because the sun was shining, cold, but sunny!

BIG DADDY: We have the same representation problem over here in the Puget Sound Chapter in that all our events take place in the Greater Seattle area even though the chapter geographical boundaries extend from the Canadian border to the Oregon/California line. There's a BMW ACA Chapter in Portland for those Bimwads to the south. As you probably know, we were a BMW ACA Chapter until two years ago when we merged with BMW CCA leaving the Portland folks as the last remaining BMW ACA Chapter.
One solution to your situation is to form a new BMW CCA Chapter representing southern Idaho and Montana; it only takes 15 folks to petition BMW CCA National for formation of a new Chapter.

That is true to form a new chapter in an unrepresented area, but what we have to do is a chapter split, the same thing western Washington did when they split from the Inland Empire Chapter. We are looking at splitting and taking all of Idaho, all of Montana, and eastern Oregon. We are working through the National Office on it as we speak.

Nothing wrong with track time, but a chapter needs to represent all of it's members interests. Adare is so pompus he attempted to kill a message board that was started at no cost to chapter members at Roadfly.com, because he would not be "able to control what members said" and they might voice objection to some aspects of the club. What, no free speach? He also atempted to cancel all web site votes in the latest elections even though the by-laws permit it.

Mr. Adare will be the downfall of the Inland Empire Chapter.

BIB DADDY: I wasn't aware that formation of the BMW CCA Puget Sound Chapter was considered a "Chapter Split". It is my understanding that BMW CCA treated the transaction as a merger whereby the BMW ACA Puget Sound Chapter became a part of BMW CCA and assumed responsibility for all BMW CCA members west of the Cascades between Canada and California. This merger was driven to a large degree by a move on the part of a group of BMW ACA members unhappy with Club governance (sound familiar?) to form a competing BMW CCA Chapter. This group elected officers and submitted a Chapter Formation Petition to BMW CCA. Keith Wollenberg, former BMW CCA Pacific Region VP, intervened and convinced both parties that competing BMW Clubs made no sense and would simply dilute the efforts of both groups. After a rather lengthy BMW ACA membership discussion period and vote the BMW ACA Puget Sound Region became a part of the BMW CCA organization.
Have you approached Eddy Funahashi, the new BMW CCA Pacific Region VP, with your grievences? Fragmenting the rather small Inland Empire Chapter into two even smaller entities would seem to be the action of last resort.
Good luck in your endeavors.

Jim

The Seattle area merger was a unique situation. All the CCA members, of which there were many, west of the Cascades were members of the Inland Empire Chapter. They in effect split from the IEC during the merger of the ACA to CCA.

Eddie is involved as is Wynne Smith, (Wollenberg refused to answer any inquires) however most Idaho, Montana and non-Spokane area members are refusing to remain in the Inland Empire Chapter under the current E-board.

Thanks for your help and encouragement!
