Hey guys and gals, I'm going to be brief, I'm looking an entire head assembly for an M30 motor. My car may not need it, but I think it would be slightly cheaper to have a shop install a head onto my car than to have them install new internals for what ever may be busted in there.

Just wondering . . .it'd really help..

Thanks yall,
-Dave

I have a M30 head. It is from a M30B30, though. Should still work for you.

I'm not sure if it will or not :(

The main difference is the front timing cover, but you can get that from your current head. The camshaft end is also slightly different, so worse case you could swap in your current camshaft. This is from a 9:1 CR M30B30, which should actually give you a bit higher compression, as the Vc is (I think) 59ccs vs the B35's 63cc. The valves are slightly smaller, too.

On second thought, you may as well call up Bobby Thrash of Strictly German and snag a used B35 head from him. He'd probably want about 300$ for it.

Sorry to get your hopes up like that. It could still work, it would just be a little tricky, as usually the newer heads are modified to work with older tech, rather than the other way around. Actually, just by "eyeballing" it of sorts, it would probably give you a CR of 10-11:1, which would give you a nice bump up in power. I wouldn't want to run like that for long though, as no knock sensors and that combo would mean some ugly detonation on the stock tune.

It wouldn't be bad if you were doing ti as a NA upgrade, but as a stopgap replacement, it would likely be better to snag one from Thrash, up in Brasleton.

Nah no biggie man, it's cool! I just know that my car needs some work, and if I could have gotten a head from someone here, I'm sure it would have cost a lot less than buying it from a vendor.

OH well, I'll keep looking, I'll give Strictly German a call however.

3.6 Stroker? Extra displacement from boring, or extra displacement from stroking? I seem to recall the combination of a B35 crank and a M90 (93.5mm bore) block gave ~3.6L. I might be interested in this, more info, please.
