Uptown:
I have a spare drivers side inner assembly (without the bucket) if interested. Contact via email plz: wufferatshaw.ca

The domestic headlight assembly is pretty much a sealed unit as the lense is not removeable and the only easy access is thru the bulb sockets. That being said, depending on the level of effort you want to put forth, the reflectors are removeable but are held in place with security (one-way) fasteners. If you inspect inner assembly in the bucket you can see what I mean and if you are ambitious enuff can tackle disassembly and cleaning.

Thanks Wuffer. I was searching on Roadfly for headlight issues and saw a lot on the adjusters but I didn't find anything re: final resolution. Is this a dealer recommend adjustment or should I go ahead and order the upgraded adjusters?

I need to adjust my headlamps (too low) but don't want to try it until I know what I may be in for. I also want to upgrade the low beam bulbs, high beams are outstanding.

The adjusters will certainly help and are a reatively easy install if you can get the old adjusters off. There is also a degree of risk in breaking the bucket during the removal attempt. For headlight bulbs, I would contact http://www.finemotoring.com/ as he is a fellow E31 owner and purveyor of fine bulbs.

Am I correct in assuming there are 2 adjusters per side (4 total)? I replaced the bulbs w/ Silverstar's yesterday but it didn't buy me much. I may break down and remove the lamp assy. and try to clean the lens'.

Yes indeed, two per side, one visible on top., other located on the underside of the bucket.

You can always go for HID if you want.

This is what I did on my old 8. (http://www.e31faq.com/attachments/att111.pdf) Dramatic difference.
