View Full Version : 2008 BMW 550i
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-12-2007, 11:26 PM I work at a bmw dealership in Richmond, VA, and today we got our first 08 550i in, Carbon Black on Black, ABSOLUTELY HOTT!!! I love it!:redspot
$74K Sticker, and its already sold.
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-13-2007, 01:10 AM I will try to put up some pics soon.
dello 04-13-2007, 09:31 AM it's amazing how the price of bmw's v-8 have jumped in the high 60k to mid 70k range. Nice car, but the price is ridculious. With such a high depreciation. Look at the m5-they were walking out the door at high 90's range and on the used car market they in the high 60k range after 1year of being on the market. Bmw really know how to make money.
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-13-2007, 11:03 PM Sorry all I have are camera phone pics, but here they are, and the car was delivered today.
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-13-2007, 11:04 PM The 550i Sport Package come standard with the body kit, and the new 19 inch M Wheels.
simonkodousek 04-14-2007, 08:04 PM I'll probably get a new 550i in a few years.
NICE!!! That's exactly what I have on order - black on black. Could you take a few more pics, maybe some of the interior?
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-15-2007, 08:53 PM The inside is soooo nice, I sat in it yesterday, I will try and get some pics tomorrow while Im at work.
raf996 04-15-2007, 10:27 PM these pics look like my 06 550i with the M sport package
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-17-2007, 10:16 PM Guys look at this video-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOwHOPtrLNo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOwHOPtrLNo)
Chief F1 Fan 04-18-2007, 06:06 AM 74K is a lotta cake!
dello 04-18-2007, 08:22 AM i said the same thing-wow ! I never would of imagine a 5-series going for that much and not even a m-model
DJsLSB04M3cic 04-18-2007, 10:57 AM Well a big part of that is the sport pkg alone is now $4600, because they include the body kit, with purchased as an accessory from the parts dept. was about $2500-3000 anyway, so that is a big piece of the pie right there. Plus the $75K car had night vision $2100, and every other top notch option.
dello 04-18-2007, 01:34 PM i hope they depreciate really well, else the newbies will have to consider theirselves raped!
White325i 04-18-2007, 07:05 PM Last weekend we went to an autoshow in Port St. Lucie and BMW had a black on black M5 - V10 - 500hp. Sticker----> 97k
The salesperson said top speed was 150 mph because it had a gov. on it. Now... if I were spending 97k for a vehicle there had better not be any gov. on it!
MP525i 04-20-2007, 03:38 PM i think that if you're looking for a 5er that you don't want to mod, this would be the perfect car. however, for a lot less money and a few mods, i think a 535 would be the better, all-around car.
you have the same turbo tuning potential of that of the 335 and i believe you can get the m aero package. could be wrong on that one though.
speaking of which - aren't they redoing the m5's front bumper as well?
-mike
Alex.M 04-30-2007, 01:32 AM 74k for a fully loaded 550 is a lot of money but not THAT much comapred to the M5. The 82k that they show on the website is a joke. With the basic must-have options it's way over 90k.
SomeBMWGuy 04-30-2007, 03:41 PM I just drove one of these. They rock. Exhaust is a lot louder and the thing just looks amazing in person. Feels faster then the 07 550 to me. :shifty

Deutschecar 05-10-2007, 10:42 AM I have been looking at everything from a 335i (great motor) to a M5/6. I just looked at the pictures posted, called my local dealer who just happens to have this car in port (Carbon Black, Sport, blah, blah). It will be mine....in a week. Thanks for the pics, they just sold a car. (1st post)
DJsLSB04M3cic 05-14-2007, 07:00 PM You're welcome.
DJsLSB04M3cic 05-14-2007, 07:02 PM I just ordered my 535i last Thurs. it will go into production in July, and I should get it late July early August. I got just about every option except Night Vision and Active Cruise Control.

You guys should look into joining Costco. There is an autobuying program that doesn't require any extra cost. I went to the dealer and was quoted 2500 over invoice on a 550i and 2300 over invoice on a 535i. For a $72K 550i, the selling price was just over $67K. Just sharing what I found out this week.
DJsLSB04M3cic 05-18-2007, 12:55 AM Pics of the 2008 Carbon Black 550i. Enjoy:redspot

I agree 100%.
The 535i is def a consideration for my next car. I love the N54 motor. I hope to put an order in through European Delivery but for next year so to go along with our European vacation.
IrvRobinson 05-19-2007, 05:25 PM I agree 100%.

ED is the way to go. There is really no other way to spend your vacation there
mysterious328 05-20-2007, 03:18 AM 74K is a lotta cake!
that's why you wait 2 or 3 years and let the depreciation kick in :buttrock
lol
Sneaky 05-20-2007, 08:24 PM I want one
MJFX328 05-20-2007, 10:21 PM I'd buy a 530 and throw them wheels on FTW!
topshotta530i 05-24-2007, 01:24 AM The '08 550i is on point! I just got an '06 530i last week, that I think is the most gorgeous thing I've seen, but when I stopped at the dealer today and saw the 550i they had, it made me want one. No, I still think mine is fresh to def, but the 550i is definately no joke.
dello 05-24-2007, 09:19 AM 550i is what the 750 should be lean and mean. Not to take anything from the 750i with the sport package, but it's not the same.
IrvRobinson 05-24-2007, 01:15 PM Sorry all I have are camera phone pics, but here they are, and the car was delivered today.
niceee. We haven't gotten our yet, but any day now

I can't see a 7 series being lean at all.. haha
DJsLSB04M3cic 05-27-2007, 07:44 PM HOTT!! Enjoy
Deutschecar 05-30-2007, 07:46 AM Got it, love it.
DJsLSB04M3cic 05-30-2007, 10:44 AM My ordered got bumped car went into production Monday- 535i Space Gray over Black, but I got bad news yesterday from the BMW Port, they are currently not yet installing Aero kits on any 08 5's. The 550i comes with it from Germany, but the rest get em installed at the port, and they said so far they are not putting them on yet. If I would have know that, I woulda got a 550
dello 05-30-2007, 12:08 PM Dam! that 550i is smoking hot! that's the true bad boy ride!

Re: money factors, fees, etc.
Seldom are these negotiable if they're preset by the factory as a special lease plan(however if less mileage is driven, you can negotiate). If they're not a promotional lease, you should be able to negotiate based on a few factors; mileage driven per year (less miles == better (lower) money factor, more mileage == higher money factor), longer terms (48 vs. 36 months) good credit score or capital reduction, or time frame.
Money factor can be converted to interest by multiplying the money factor by 2400. For example if the money factor is .00250, multiply it by 2400 and you get 6%; conversely, 6% divided by 2400 == .00250; the lower the money factor, the lower the interest.
Capital reduction is any money that reduces the negotiated price of the car; additional down payment, trade-in credit, or factory rebates.

HPLouis 06-07-2007, 09:39 AM Oh man...those 550's are hot!
I've never seen the M Aero kit on a car before. Looks good. Can I get that at the dealer (installed and painted too)?
DJsLSB04M3cic 06-07-2007, 01:00 PM With 550's you can order the car with it, for all other models you have to wait its not available yet, at least for 08 models.
scribbler11 06-12-2007, 02:59 PM So what the verdict on 535i vs. 550i?
DJsLSB04M3cic 06-13-2007, 02:42 AM My 535i will be here in 2.5 weeks.
NY550i 06-13-2007, 10:18 AM Test drove both the 535i and the 550i... ended up with the 550i because there is just no replacement for displacement.

hi there..love your car.. i got the same almost to a T.. the sticker on my 08' 550i in alpine white loaded is $71, 545.00 and i paid my taxes upfront, first payment, and not sure about security.. i think we argued and they waved it? not too sure about that but my payment is $990.. WHHEEWWWW.. it pains me to say that..but its the best damm money we ever spent on a car.. im in new york.. leased from n.j.. but theres your "idea" of what itll cost.. hope you can swallow it..lol
juris335 04-26-2008, 11:30 PM Why is the 550i $10-$15K more than the 535i, beyond the V-8 engine? If you added teh aero kit when ordering the 535i wouldn't it be the same car except for th engine?
