Hi all, I just joined this forum today. So far i've seen some really informative posts. However, i did not see anyone query about using staggered wheels on an xi model.

Does anyone know if this is possible? I've heard that it is not. Just wanted to know if anyone knows for sure.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

yes it is possible because it is just like any other 5-series but w/ 4 wheel drive. but most people get a xi for the snow and a staggered setup aka wider back tires is not a desired feature for the snow... now for the dry look at Lamborghini it does this so keep your non staggered and get a good set of snow tires and then put the staggered setup and your good to go

The xi models are not like other rear wheel drive models. The wheel offsets are much higher for the xi models greater than 30mm. Having said that you can go staggered but find the right offsets for the wheels. Normal offsets for regular models are < 30mm.

wider tires would not be a problem, as long as they have the same overall diameter as the fronts. Taller tires could theoretically cause some problems in the transfer case.

Staggered are not an option on your xi.

Also, you cannot run "normal" wheels for the 5er on your ride--you need xi specific wheels.

This means your offsets are different, and you can't run as wide of a rim, etc.

Please disregard much of the information here, as it doesn't work/isn't accurate.
