congrats.......but only 12.50 per hour?? Oklahoma sucks on pay.....man I should have taken that Lab Job with Quest Labs they was going to start me at 17.50 per hour if I would have had my MT cert or my BS they would have started me at 21 per hour.....but congrats anyways I just dont know if I want to work back in the Medical field again...well at least as a lab tech ...If I go back I might try going into radiology but even then.......either way the medical field is good and pays well but I guess I got burned out working in it while I was in the Military.....I went from a Truck driver to a Medical Lab Tech....and to tell you the truth being a truck driver was more enjoyable than being a Lab tech...but I dont want to be a truck driver on the outside....but I do like being outdoors and doing different things everyday.......sorry to ramble on I just still trying to decide what 4 year to transfer to and what major to take........and I need to decide quick.......also I am going to need to get a job too...while going to school......I am making it now but thats because I am going to a cheap school when I transfer I have to find something to offset the money I am loosing going to an expensive 4year ....oh I guess I could moonlight as a lab tech to make some extra cash only thing is I dont think Hospitals pay as well as outsource labs......I dont know.....I am so frustrated ......oh yeah still need to do my taxes....I am missing my school tax relief paper I got in the mail........right now I am missing the military life also.....ok..ok...I am going to go now...

oh yeah dont you worry, we are still planning on moving to vegas after brandon completes his helicopter training here. its waaaaay cheaper here so thats the only reason why we are staying here for now. now we will have enough for him to get started again. hahaha
by the way raymond, i am the highest paid student as of now in our class. surgical tech is a great career, many opportunities to specialize and advance as a first assistant. everything in oklahoma pays horrible. surg tech is just one of those things that pays more with experience. i honestly think im starting out pretty damn good.

yeah I am just going by what the Surg Techs in the Army up in Washington....but they had some specialized training also but they was making a mad grip just moonlighting in the Hospitals on their off time
alot of my soldiers were Surg Techs...some of them knew more about surgery than the Docs.....hell.....its shocking and scary that even the Docs even called down to the Lab and asked us questions on the test results they got back and what to do and how to treat people......But on their behalfs we do learn more details about the workings of the human body and all the diseases and parasites that can hurt us and how to find the signs of them in blood, urine, feces, sperm, vaginal swabs, and other body parts like eyeballs, liver, kidney, brain, and muscle tissue, just to name a few that have came across my table......
good thing about the medical field you have some what job security cause people are always going to get sick, get hurt, grow old and need some kind of medical help....

congrats carrie!!
oh and pay is less here b/c cost of living is a lot less here. 50k/year here goes a lot farther than say 50k/year in dallas, LA, Seattle, etc.
