Lots of e38 owners do. Unfortunately I don't know if any of them are members. But this unit pounds if you want it to :)
It can also be tuned for nice subtle bass. We include the amplifier tuning guide so you can tune it how you like your bass

Lexicon740il 04-12-2007, 01:27 PM I just installed the BSW package last night.......
It is AMAZING......Thats if I had to use only one word.....
I installed it with no problems whatsoever......
The directions were the most well written DIY install instructions I have ever used.
And the customer service @ BSW was second to none.....
Halston answered and addressed every question I could throw at him in a very professional manner that made me feel like myself and my business was inportant to them. And thats something thats priceless to me....Being a business owner, and dealing with vendors all the time.....
So do youself a favor and if your looking for some low end in your 7 series, Ditch those stock paper coned 5 1/4 in. woofers and get in on this deal while it lasts.....
I will be posting pics and a further review as soon as I get a chance to fully tune my amp later today....
If you guys have any questions "from a customer" let me know.....
Khiladi1020 04-12-2007, 01:41 PM How much mounting depth do you have for the sub, and what is the total volume of the box?
I already have an amp and sub combo... but the box itself seems nice to me...

Because of the huge variety of subwoofers on the marketplace, it would be impossible for us to provide a comprehensive list of compatible subwoofers. However, you can determine whether a given subwoofer will fit based on the mounting depth and hole cutout requirements of your subwoofer. The BSW Single 12" Deck-Mounted Enclosure maximum mounting depth is 6.24" and the woofer hole cutout size is 11.25" - if the requirements of a given woofer are smaller or equal to these dimensions, the woofer will fit! If not, you'll need to choose another subwoofer.
Our Single 12" Deck-Mounted Enclosure provides .92 cubic feet of airspace. If this closely meets the requirements of a sealed enclosure for your woofer (you can find this information on their spec sheets), it should sound superb. If airspace is a little tight, that's OK too - you might just want to provide the woofers with a bit more power and you'll be OK.

Khiladi1020 04-13-2007, 01:37 PM How much room is there between the box and the trunk wall (behind seats)? Is it flush against there, or is there a couple inches of room for the amp to be mounted?
Since I already have an amp against the driver's side wall there, I want to know if the box would fit, or would i have to place it somewhere else...
Looks good.

No problem fellas,
There is 6.5 in. at the top of the box to the back wall and 9.5 from the bottom of the box to the wall.....Because the bottom of the back wall is recessed....
Plenty of space for amp mounting on the back wall like I did with lots of room to breath.... If you already have your amp mounted on the side wall of the trunk your ok too..theres well over 5in. from the side edge of the box to the side wall ...as you can see from my photos...
The measurments for bottom of mounted box to the trunk floor is 12.5 to 10.5 in...due to the angle of the steel of the rear deck of the car...
Plenty of room for getting at the spare or sliding a suitcase under....
Let me know if you guys need anymore measurements.....

Lex, you completely remove the old deck speakers and toss them? My speakers just blew and I was going to see if someone had any for sale, but if this is a direct replacement for those, then that's all I need to know.

Yep the 4 stock 5-1/4 speakers and the stock enclosure is removed entirely.
When you remove the stock subwoofer enclosure there is a bunch of venting holes that are exposed so you can actually get the bass from the well insulated Bimmer trunk into the cabin where you can here it...
Trust me this is very important when installing a subwoofer system in a BMW...
I've done systems in all my BMW's and its always a issue the trunks are just too well sealed....
But the removal of the stock sub components for this setup provides the perfect amount of venting for the new sub into the cabin.

Your my hero man, I'm running the craziest setup in my car and very very very little bass comes in. I'm pushing one JL Audio W7 13.5 inch with and Xtant 1001. This an insane setup typically but in my car its just loud when the trunk is open but other wise it's nothing in the cabin. I'm going to try this when I get my car back from the body shop. I can't wait.
rmani 04-14-2007, 04:30 AM Damn if i wasn't so broke i'd definitely give this thing a shot. looks great.
Khiladi1020 04-14-2007, 11:40 AM Definitly opening up the ports on the rear deck makes a HUGE difference. SE7EN4ORTY, you should do that asap! :)

Your hero....I'm blushing;)
Thats a nice Setup you have there....I ran that amp on 2 xtant 10's in my 328.
You should most def. remove the rear deck for that venting...And while you have the rear seats out it wouldnt hurt to punch out the ski pass slot behind the rear arm rest also...
I did this in my 98' 740i, You fold that rear armrest down and it will make your teeth rattle.
Good luck, If you need my help on the removal of the stock enclosure PM me..

Alex went with a little more custom setup because as he put it "I want ALOT of Bass". This is not something we normally do but we had some extra items here and put something together for him.
You are looking for specs of the subwoofer and amplifier that would normally come with the d112.38?

I have 2, 6 x 6 ports I am going to installing the rear deck when they come in.. Perhaps this will allow a little more air flow into the main cabin.

Halston Pitman 05-08-2007, 10:13 AM I am sure it can be done. However i think the pure output you are looking for is not what we specialize in :)

BlackWolf 05-08-2007, 10:46 AM the single sub hits pretty good and is about in line with the stock amp( mids and highs). I am hoping to gain a few db with the added ports. Have you listened to single 12 sub? This might help you make up your mind if they are enough for your style of music?

Can you send me an instruction on the hook up of this package, with maybe some diagrams of the install. I'm not familiar with the 740i audio setup. I'd like to know what I'd be getting into with this project. How long does shipping take?

Paul01740i 08-23-2007, 02:35 PM Halston,
Would you please send the product and installation info for your d112.e38 package to pauldiaz@hotmail.com? Like Chi Lyon above, I need to make sure I (or some more electronically-competent friends) can handle this project before committing. Also, be sure to respond to yesterday's "740 speakers" thread; a couple of people were looking for subwoofer solutions. Thanks, P

Strahan 09-12-2007, 08:13 PM Does it change the appearance of the shelf inside the cabin?
Halston Pitman 09-13-2007, 10:30 AM No sir. From inside you will never know that it is even there.
Rockstardj 09-13-2007, 01:18 PM too bad they don't make one for E32 :(
Halston Pitman 09-13-2007, 01:55 PM Unfortunately no :(
I installed the sub system and it sounds great, but I noticed that when I turned the car back on after installing, the bottom row of pixels is out on my radio where it shows the radio station. has anyone else had this problem or any ideas of how to fix it?
Halston Pitman 09-14-2007, 06:06 PM Wow... Has the display ever been replaced? Very common for this to happen just weird it happened right after our sub install :(
BMW 5s and 7s and 3s OBC and their pesky Displays!
well i retract my last post. immediately after install the bottom two rows of pixels went out on my radio display but now they are magically working again. I have no idea why they stopped or why they work again now, but I'm ok with it.
Halston Pitman 09-17-2007, 06:23 PM Haha
BMWs LED Pixels always go out :(
Halston Pitman 10-23-2007, 03:09 PM Going to keep running this for a bit longer! 100 dollars off sale!

So it's $659 with free shipping? Kinda diggin' that ipod set up, also, but my pockets aren't THAT deep...LOL. Well, they are but I can't spend that much without clearance from the misses :)
Halston Pitman 10-23-2007, 04:56 PM Yes sir :)
Let me know!
iPod is not on sale. Grab the subwoofer first!

Man, I just read the details on the sub and ipod integration kit - that is a freegin' slick set-up.....nice! Yea, I'd get the sub first, but with the kit being less than $200, wouldn't be a bad "add-on" :)

We can certainly do both at once :) Get free shipping on the whole order :)
Jayccel 10-23-2007, 06:00 PM So the cd-changer has to be disabled? It cannot run with the ipod kit?
Halston Pitman 10-23-2007, 06:14 PM Unfortunately in your vehicle it is a 1 lane 1 way road :(
Jayccel 10-23-2007, 08:47 PM Well.....that's not necessarily a bad thing. It sure would trip everyone out, that gets in my car to realize that I'm "ipod" only....lol
Halston Pitman 10-24-2007, 11:32 AM Shouldn't be a problem for most people :)
msimp227 10-27-2007, 08:54 PM So, for a 750 w/ DSP, if I want to install it into my ash tray and don't have tools, how much will the ipod kit cost exactly? I have a nano and a 60G video iPod. I'll need to be able to use both.
