Hey guys I've got a RO, and the specs say that it's "no load speed" is 4,000-12,000 opm (orbitals per minute). How does that translate to rpms? I'm always reading the detailing suggestions and they reconmend/give the figure in rpms, and I just wanted to clarify what operating speed I should be operating at in terms of OPMs.
If anyone could give me the equation or point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys

The orbits are essentially random, so there isn't really a way to convert them to oscillations. Say it takes 100 orbits to make a circle one time, it may take 120 or 85 next time.
If you are worried about hurting your paint, it really is hard to do with a RO, so I wouldn't worry too much. Start around medium speed and work from there. I personally use full speed setting on my porter cable RO all them time.

yea you dont need to worry about your speed with a PC. Most people recomend polishing at speed 5 or even 6. i know i do.
Thanks for the input guys. I'm not worried about hurting the paint, I've used the R/O before. I'm just trying to establish what's the best speed to operate it at for a polish.
