View Full Version : Got Rear Ended Today!!!! I want to cry...
SE7EN40RTY 04-10-2007, 02:08 AM I rear ended at like 30MPH while I was at a dead stop. He hit me so hard some of my wood trim flew off!!! My M5 exhaust is all bent down and sideways, my back bumper trim all popped off, my back bumper is all jacked up, and my tire well in slightly creased. craziness.
But surprisingly My car took it like a champ. nothing too bad. they guy pleaded with me not to claim it. he said first get a quote and see if he can afford it then got from there. of course I got all of his information then we parted ways. I immediately took the car to my buddies shop and explained that the guys wants to pay out of pocket. then he proceed to say lets go check it out. Then after seeing it he said wow this guys is F*#&ed haha minimum $3,600.00 USD without taking off the back bumper to investigate. So I then called the guy and told him what my buddy said. Then he was like wow yeah I can't afford that you can claim it.
So I did against his insurance. Now I'm having bad back pains that'll I'll goto the doctor for tomorrow. :( And I just post on here on a thread about random things happening to our sevens. I swear. I got that evil eye on my ass all the time.
I will post pictures tomorrow as well.
board57796 04-10-2007, 02:11 AM God that sucks. You just got your car fixed didn't you? Another guy I know of who was rear-ended had his estimate at over $10k!! And it didn't even sound as bad as yours.
Thats a bummer, sorry man.
SE7EN40RTY 04-10-2007, 02:23 AM Yes i just had the front fixed like last month. This will be it's second month in a row in the body shop. My mom says this is a sign from god to sell it. haha. I told her it's a test! and I won't give up, I keep my loyalty haha. Sometimes you have to be a man and live with a few wrong decisions sometimes. Stick it out.
What was his damaged on his car? do you know by chance?
Man, I'm sorry. That's sad news.
At least you're alive, and hopefully the back pain will go away.

SE7EN40RTY 04-10-2007, 02:36 AM oh yeah my car is worse at first glance. but i cant tell under that bumper. the major thing the body shop said was the bent custom exhaust.... its bent pretty bad.
NAZ1998BMWM3 04-10-2007, 02:49 AM will the insurance cover the custom M5 exhaust? or will you get a stock one?
SE7EN40RTY 04-10-2007, 02:54 AM ah shit, they better cover it. it's a bolt on. so I'm sure they will. Pray for me. haha you never know these guys.
crewdog843 04-10-2007, 10:21 AM Sorry to hear about your misfortune....be careful with the back pain....it could get worse, so you need to let the insurance company know now and get it documented. This guy sounds like he has had some problems in the past. Hopefully, you have a police report (although it doesn't sound like you do)....without it, it could be your word against his.
Be prepared to find out that his/her/their information is not what it initially looked to be. I was once sideswiped by a woman who showed me insurance information which was false, the driver's license was false, and it was not even her car....my insurance took care of the damage, I paid the deductible, and they went after her. Never found out what happened in that investigation.
Many states allow people to drive with no insurance, but in the event of an accident, they bear full responsibility for monetary damages (and many can not afford it....figure the odds, they can't afford insurance, but they can afford the monetary damages....not!!!!!!!).

Sorry to hear about your accident.
CREWDOG is on the money!
Document everything, date, time of accident, repair estimate and inform his insurance company of your back pain and go see a doctor.
Matsui 04-10-2007, 01:39 PM Sorry to hear about your accident again. That really sucks.
Hope the insurance covers everything for you, altough I doubt it would cover anything non-stock.
Good luck.
Jayccel 04-10-2007, 02:59 PM Damn, sorry to hear that man
roys740 04-10-2007, 10:19 PM wow, sorry to hear about the accident. hopefully no more things pop up, so you can enjoy the ride. Keep the faith....:)
M62pwrdE38 04-10-2007, 10:52 PM That sucks, especially since you just got it back too.
Cabo740i 04-10-2007, 10:57 PM You couldn't have picked a better, safer car to get rear-ended in, that's for sure. Sorry to hear about that. I'd try and have the car totalled, you'll probably get a lot more money than what it would cost to replace her these days. If you have custom parts, take them off now.
SE7EN40RTY 04-11-2007, 02:01 AM Thanks for the advice guys, I filed a police report online last night, called his insurance, filed a claim, and they accepted full responsibility after speaking with the gentleman who hit me. So it's good to hear I'm not getting scammed. They are going to cover a rental car for me, and are going to take care of all doctors fees. My back pain did get a lot worse today actually. So I called them about it and went to go see a doctor, I got some meds, and then scheduled an appointment with a chiropractor. So we'll see what happens. I spoke to my body shop and they said the exhaust being a bolt on the insurance will have to cover it because it cannot be replaced with stock parts now. I'm just upset about the exhaust on the car mostly haha that was what made my seven unique...:(
crewdog843 04-11-2007, 10:35 AM Everything else can be replaced....watch your back. There's a pain and suffering issue which will need to be addressed.

decepticons7 04-11-2007, 01:33 PM good luck!
eddieb022000 04-11-2007, 01:56 PM My advice is: always get a police report... just remember for next time. it doesn't matter if the guy wants to pay for it out of pocket, i was hit at 10 MPH and the damage was $2600... honestly i could barely tell the car was hit, but when you take the bumper off there were a lot of parts that needed to be replaced.
You are lucky if the other guys insurance will cover your medical. In NY state each person is responsible for his own medical, meaning i would have to file a claim with my insurance company if i wanted to go to the doctor...
