Hey, I have been doing alot of reading latley trying to understand EBC more, but i feel i am missing something. Some EBC will allow multiple different boost level presets. If i want to have my boost levels set at 8psi and 13psi. If my ECU is chipped to run at 13psi, can i just then turn it down to 8 psi and expect everything to run OK or will the AFR and timing be incorrect??

Do i have to get one of those 3 Bar map sensors or w/e in order to decrease my boost to 8psi and run correctly. Or do i have to get it tuned for 8psi in addition?? Or is it just OK to turn my boost lvls down??

You can tell im not sure really what im talking about, but thats why im here...

Hope you guys can help me out

-Nick

You can tune the boost controller for whatever boost you want. If I understand correctly, your setup is for a max of 13 psi, you can tune it to as low as your wastegate spring or up to your 13 psi.

The car should be tuned for different levels of timing etc. based on what the MAF or MAP is reading.

ohh ok, my plan was to run the Technique Tuning Turbo kit, so i was going to use my stock ECU with the chip that i get with the TT turbo kit.

What else do i need in order to control these multiple different MAF lvls? (The 3 bar sensor thing?) Or is their some other system that i should get also in order to have these different MAF levels stored on my ECU??

Can i have multiple different MAF levels/maps all stored on one chip??

If you are going to run the TT kit, everything comes with it.

Aside from the Boost Controller. There are members on here who have pushed their TTS2 kits as high as 16psi with their EBCs and Nick's tuning keeps up just fine. At that point, the only issue becomes the injectors running out of steam...

So if i wanted to turn down my boost from 13psi to 8psi, once im at 8psi my car will be running just fine, the chip will automatically change for the less boost pressure im running now??(it wont run way too rich or something like that??)

I guess my problem is that i just dont understand what are the full capabilities and range the stock ECU running Nicks tuned chip will offer me all together... Can someone help me understand this better

Sorry if this sounds confusing but im trying to best explain what i dont exactly understand completly, and its hard..

The TTS2 kit, is the chip that i will recieve from Nick not just specifically tuned to run only at a single certain boost amount, but rather the chip can handle a wide range of different boost level amounts in that area(could run a little more boost or a little less boost to a certain point)??

Yes.

The stock ECU uses a MAF to read the amount of air coming into the engine, as such it can adjust fuel and timing as needed within the limits of the MAF and fuel system.

I am pretty sure that since it is a blow through set up that the MAF can read the new density of the air due to the "new atmospheric pressure" aka boost. Then it already sense the speed, because of the maf, so I would see why it wouldnt be able to.

Damn, it looks like im going to get a TT kit now whenever I switch over from my vortech kit.
I just didnt want to pay twice for tuning if I ever need to adjust my boost.
