Today, I tried helping a friend replace the brakes on his x5. The caliper carrier bolts are on so tight, I couldn't even remove it with my Dewalt impact wrench. Any other methods to remove this? I'm guessing whoever did the last brake change used an air gun on it.
There are two things you can do:
1. A little love from a propane torch. Just stick the flame directly on the bolt for about a minute (obviously be careful with fire and angle it away from the brake line).
2. Put a pipe on the end of your wrench. If you extend the handle of your wrench then you increase the torque.

Using a long pipe worked. Thanks again. :)
