I just bought a MK4 unit and will be upgrading since I found out that MK3 can't do MP3 ID3 audiotext. Once I swap out and verify the MK4 I bought is fully functional, I will mail out the MK3 to whoever pays for it first. I've upgraded the unit to the latest firmware (3-1/63 for the MK3 from the v29.1 release). It is currently coded for European region so there's no "accept" message. I will be including the California/Nevada map CD as well.
I'm asking for $350 USD shipped within US and insured. I should get my MK4 the week of 4/9 so you can expect this to ship by the end of that week. Serious buyers, please PM me directly.

Does this include the screen, CD reader, brain and any harnesses required?

No. This is just the so-called "brain" of the navigation system. If i were including the monitor, harness, radio, etc. for the entire system, I would be asking for between $1500-$2500 depending on the versions of the components. (brand new components would total over $3400 w/ ~20% discount, src: http://www.tencorners.com/automobiles/1998_BMW_540i/installations/navigation/parts_list/)
If you are piecing together a navigation system to retrofit, then this is one of the several components you'll need. This is also an upgrade if you currently have a MK1 or MK2 base navigation system.

great upgrade for MK1 or Mk2 owners! if you plan on upgrading to a widescreen, you need at least a MK3 or MK4. This MK3 supports widescreen and split screen feature.
