I think I have a very slight leak coming from the oil level sensor gasket.
I looked in the Bentley, and it says some BS about having to drop the whole pan, and blah blah blah, but it looks to me like there's 3 bolts that hold this mo-fo in.
Who sells a gasket for it? If not, what kind of sealant should I use?

Danke!

Forget if it was pre-96 or pre-93, but some housings have 2 plugs that cover holes from when the housing was cast. Oil can leak from them making it look like the gasket needs replacing when in fact the housing is bad. The PO on my 91 replaced that thing 5 times in 6 years.

Either way, dont think you need to drop the pan.

Bitte schön!

I just bought the o ring for my 93. I got it from All European along with some other stuff. If all you need is the o ring it may be worth just going to the dealer to avoid shipping costs.

And no you should not have to remove the oil pan. I have taken my sensor out before and there are three bolts and you have to unplug the sensor before it will drop down out of the pan. There is just this little o ring holding your oil in the pan. Also I am sure you know this but you gotta drain the oil first.
