My ignition is broken it seems. I tried to turn the car on and the ignition just slipped easily to the starter point but nothing happened. The key goes in fine but its stuck in 1st position when you turn the key, and when you take it out its still stuck in 1st position. Steering column is locked, so I cant push start it. It would be nice to some how get the steering column unlocked so i can push start it.Any ideas? Are there any quick fixes? my car is stranded in a wendys parking lot.

Is it the Wendys at Friendship RD??? I can help if it is still there tomorrow when I'm at work.

You need a new steering lock assy

The insides probobly look like this.

You should be able to use a large paper clip straightened out to get your iginition cyl out and use some needle nose plyers to get your car going.

Stick the paper clip in the little hole in the chrome ring around where your key goes. You'll have to spin the key a little to find the spot where it goes through. Search for more info on how to do that on here if you can't figure it out. Its easy.

If the needle nose plyers won't fit since im not 100% sure they will, you could always pull the igition switch out and use a screw driver to start it by manually turning the switch.

Also.. worst case senario, break the steering lock itself by turning/yanking on the wheel really hard, then you could start it by way of ignition switch.

Im going to bed, but one of the two ways should get you on your way.
