I would like Llumar Lifetime Warranty tint for my 2 door 99 M3. I was going to go to a place in McKinney but they shut down and neither owner answers their phone. One guy is doing it out of his house but I dont know about having that done unless the price is right. Anyone know a place that does quality work for a decent price???? I would like to get this done tomorrow!

Please no hunting down people that do not exist like "my friend's friend used to work at Tints-R-Us. He will do it for $50!" Then I call and no one ever answers.

The closer to Lewisville the better also, but willing to drive for quality.

Thanks,
Mike

I've posted this before, but:

"Altamere" is AMAZING. They did the work on my mom's MB, my dad's p-car and they do the tint for all of the park-place dealerships. Look them up online - they're very very good.

Jacob,
I guess you're pretty happy with their work if you are suggesting them. How much and what level of tint did you get from them?

Tint depot...
I have the worst tint job I have ever had from these guys. I have been back 3 times due to pealing and bubbles and STILL have bubbles but its too cold to retint right now. The price is good but their quality sux!!! Plus they broke 2 of the door panel snaps off and didnt tell me. I found this out after I looked for myself.

Went there too.....not happy. Bubbles all over it and hopefully it will come out in 3 days. They cut the front door rubber molding in order to get the tint underneath it. That is plain bullshit to cut something on someone's car without asking. Total hacks in my opinion and I think my tint looks like shit. I even made them redo the doors because there was a 1/8" by the mirror that did not even get tinted. I am giving it the given cure time, but I dont think all of the things I am unhappy with will ever come out. I will be back to make them redo it most likely.

Oh damn, I was thinking of getting my M3 tinted there in the next month or so.

Was it some n00b doing the tint? 1/8" gap on the window sounds nasty...

I dont know but you know how clean my car is and how I like stuff done right. Now the rubber seal he cut is torn at the top. I looked at it last night closely for the first time. My super clean virgin car feels devirginized. I saw the 1/8" gap and cannot believe anyone would let that leave their shop.

Finally I was able to detail my car yesterday since my surgery. Upon doing so, I found that they cut my door panel also. There are several razor blade cuts at the top of the door panel. Needless to say, I am NOT happy at all at this point. :mad Stay away from this place!!

Well in that case... anybody know of a place around the Ft Worth/Arlington area that will do a full sedan tint job around $120 or so with llumar and not butcher my car?

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble. I have strongly advised them to make things right, but it sounds like they haven't. I hate to say this, but I have lost a lot of faith in them lately. My reputation is somewhat compromised when I recommend people and this shit happens.

I am going back Thursday. I expect it to all be corrected: new door panels, new trim that was cut, $60 to take the car somewhere to have the tint removed, and a refund for the tint job. I want to leave there as if I had never been there. That is pretty much the only way things will be made right. My door panels are sliced and everyone knows how nice my car is/was. It was not like this when I brought it to them, so I expect them to make things right. Last time I EVER try to save money....

From the sounds of it, you have the right for all the above mentioned. Good Luck!

Looks like I paid on the high end at around $225 but Pro Tint did a fantastic job and has been highly recommended in the past. Up on Preston near that Firestone in North Dallas (few streets up from Beltline-ish)

I used the Lumar Platinum Plus Tint - nice stuff and a high heat rejection.

Yo beware with Glacier S of UTA on cooper, they may do a good job if you do not have tint on your car, however I had them remove the terrible purple hue tint that was on a Honda of mine and they majorly scratched the glass up getting the old stuff off.

So what'd they do? You have to drain some scrotum for some results? :shifty

Well, I took the car back last week and had the entire thing retinted. They said they had let some new guy do it and he basically fucked it all up. The install manager even admitted it looked like shit. They said they were willing to work with me and wanted a second chance to retint it. I let them and it turned out pretty good. I am happy with it at least.

As for the door panels, a lether repair guy is coming out next week to repair all the razor blade cuts, and the shop is supposed to be ordering me new seals for around the door where they cut.

I was pissed about the whole incident, but they have made things right for the time being. I need to call them and check on the door seals, but I did not want to just leave a bashing on the web and not follow up since they are attempting to make things right.

If they fix it up, I might give them a go - that shows good character in business.

How much did they charge you, and what type of llumar tint did you go with?

They were willing to make things right and I only thought it was fair to let them retint it. I am happy with it, and feel they are doing me right through this whole thing.

It was $120 plus tax which is a deal. I got the metallized film but dont really know the specifics. I can post some pics this weekend.

Update, still no fixes. I have called several times and even gave the guy the part numbers to order for the door seals they cut. I told him how much they were too. This was back at the end of August. I have no repairs for the damage they did to my car, and he even told me he would call me back to get my new address in Oklahoma in which to send the new replacement parts.

As far as the leather repair, the guy came out and did a pretty good job, but I am weary of whether it will still rip when I remove the door panels to replace the speakers. Plus, the cuts in the door panels are still noticeable. I notice them and just not happy with having a car so clean with those being the flaws in it due to their own negligence. Negligence = letting some new guy tint my car that did not know how to tint.

Tint Depot has NOT made things right with me, and this is very frustrating. As soon as I get back to Dallas for the holidays, I guess I am going to have to file a lawsuit to get my repairs made to my vehicle. I have given them every opportunity to make this right, and they have consistently blown me off.

I fully intend to have the door panels replaced, the window guides/seals replaced and then be reimbursed for the tint job as if I had never come there, especially seeing as there are flaws in the back window. They have caused me great frustration and I guess I am done dealing with them.

You would think a shop would not blow you off, but I have been nice, never raised my voice, and been very understanding, but after 6-7 times of being told Kimon is going to order my parts, I have absolutely had it.

Yea, they're not the most professionally run operation.

I got my car tinted there, and they left a 1/8-1/4" gap on the back of the front driver's side window. I showed it to him, and the guy was trying to tell me how my window is "off the tracks" and I need to take it to a shop to fix it and it's not their problem. I kept telling him to save it for someone that would buy that load of shit, and he finally did after trying to hold my window back while I rolled it up(dude looked like an idiot).

They agreed to fix it since it was obviously their screwup, but it took about 3 hrs just to get one window done when there was only 1 other car in the shop and they had a bunch of guys just hanging out doing nothing in the bay instead of working on my car.

So I'm not surprised they're trying to screw you out of fixing their even larger screw up on your car.

Yeah, I have been out there more than enough times, and they are slooooooooow. I dont think they are run very professionally at all. I am done fooling with it.
